Rai didn't respond to the others answers. She was focused all her attention inward, on the storm inside. Waiting for the absolute peak. Then...
It all burst out of her at once in a tight burst of pure lightning. "TAKE THAT!!!"

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The monster senses the lightning strike and leaps further into the cloud - not completely dodging the lightning strike, but lessening it's impact somewhat.
Meanwhile, Bellator continues his assault, striking a grazing blow against the monster. Lorez, meanwhile, invigorated by a flash of energy from Bellator, launches her own blast of energy against the monster.

- Spoiler:
- The Fog Assassin's reaction reduces the damage from Call Lightning by half. Bellator, meanwhile, deals 3 damage and cures Lorez of her Ongoing Damage, and Lorez in turn deals 6 damage. It is now Paladin's turn.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Paladin grunted slightly as he felt the poison in his system taking its toll. Making him sway on his feet. However, he responded by simply widening his stance, keeping himself stable enough to focus his ki once more. This time, he didn’t transfer it to anyone, but focused it though his sword, into a rune he hasn’t used recently. This rune was a catalyst, changing the energy and empowering it before Paladin unleashed it. A surge of ki that he turned into a healing pulse, whilst the rest washed over Aparix, the human warrior believe that the gunsligher was building up to something big. The healing surge managed to wipe out the traces of the poison inside of him, but wasn’t able to heal him much afterwards.

Aparix looked at Paladin. "You've put far too much faith in me, you realize."
For the first time since the battle started, he smiled, and without looking put a bullet through the fogbeast's head.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The headshot bursts clean through the creature's skull. Its limbs slack, its combat stance degenerates, the light fades from its eyes, and it topples to the ground in an ignominious pile. Slowly, the cloud of noxious fog begins to dissipate.
Meanwhile, the other group finishes off the mob of Blightspawn, and regroups, with Quill tending to the wounds of the group.
- Spoiler:
- I could have had it use its reaction, but honestly, it's not like it was going to turn the tide or anything, and I just want this fight to be over so we can move on.

At the monster's death, Rai let out a long breath, before focusing withing once more. Her prayers to Mutus were rarely organized, or put into words. He would understand her feelings of gratitude and requests for the power to shape the weather more without such crutches. Right now, she focused on the sensations and memories of the battle, and the relief and happiness she felt in acting out his will.

“So. I put too much faith in you that you’ll finish the fight quicker did I?” Paladin commented neturally to Apaix after he headshotted the fog-assassin after he got a burst of energy. Paladin didn’t bother saying anything else, but focused his ki inwards, healing his wounds and removing and traces of poison or the blight in his system. Well, at least that was his plan at any rate. Whenever or not he managed to be successful, was something else altogether.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Mitsuna sat down with a sigh on the ground, contemplating the battle as she awaited treatment at Quill's hands. This whole Blight fighting business was wearing on her... And the Channeler. That someone was channeling the Blood Queen was disturbing, at best, and ominous at worst. She had not deemed her opponent particularly skilled; judging by his inability to resist her own spells. But what if someone else was out there? Surely there were more where tis one came from; Blightspawn never came in singles, and now doubt this held for their Channelers as well. This had clearly been the student; where was the master?

"Group" 1 (Crystalite): Quill looks around the battle zone for a few moments. "The Blightspawn came from this direction," he says, pointing to the North.
Group 2 (the rest): Lorez asks the newcomer, "Hey, you wouldn't have happened to see someone running away from here on your way over, did you?"

Rai blinked, her concentration diverted. "Can't say I remember seeing that. Probably came from different directions."

Aparix laughed heartily at Paladin's remark. "Just saying you shouldn't make it a trend, that's all."
Laughing heartily? Must be battle adrenaline or something.

"If I put my trust in people, its because I know they can deliver." Paladin said with a shrug at Aaprix's comment, frowning a bit when the flier mentioned that hadn't seem anyway running away. "So... we can either go and look for were the blight horde might be, and possibly join up with other groups, or head back and report the existence of an intelligence behind the horde, someone working for the Queen... thoughts?"

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
(Darn it, mj, that was a GM nudge! XD)
Bellator loudly proclaims, "Can't go back now! More monsters to kill!"
Lorez seems a little more... measured in her response. "Well, if we went back now we'd lose the trail..."

Paladin reflect on these opinions and thoughts given, before nodding. "Agreed, we can report back later." With his sword sheathed, the human looked around at the others, asking. "Does anyone require healing, or as we ready to go on?"

Lorez and Bellator take a moment to regain their breath. The gas has slightly burned their skin and lungs, but they are ready to continue.
- Spoiler:
- As usual, my policy stands - if you were Bloodied, you remain so, but go up to 15 HP, though a heal check can change that. Otherwise, unless you're unconscious, you go up to full. Currently, Lorez and Bellator are thus at full health.

As he waited for a reply from the others about if healing was necessary, Paladin focused his ki inwardly, healing the injuries he had taken from the battle. Hoping to get back to a fighting-fit form before continuing on with their expedition.

"...I guess..." Mitsuna started, suddenly unsure of what to do. Immediately, the Blightspawn needed rooting out. However, someone had to spread the knowledge; the Blood Queen had Channelers, and they were not to merely be shrugged away. It was times like this that Mitsuna wished she were Dia's Channeler; for all her faults, Dia's will was easily discerned. Mitsuna leaned back, opening her ears and baring her soul, begging Noxa for a clearer sign...

"I'm fine, thanks, Mutus looks after his own" Rai glanced around, looking for any signs of where the person the group mentioned could have gone.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
@Crystalite: After a few moments, you receive a reply. It comes in the form of a voice, like the tinkling of glass and the falling of night rain, heard not with your ears but with your mind. It says, "Turning back would normally be the most prudent course... but others are converging on a location of importance to the Brood Mother. They will need assistance."
@mjh6: Your search reveals... not much. There's a number of directions he could have gone. You do, however, notice a man stepping into the clearing. In fact, you all do.
He's clad head to toe in black leather armor and a cloak, with a helm that completely obscures his face. A battleaxe and a bow are slung across his back, and one hand is on the hilt of said axe. He looks around for a moment before saying in a strong voice, "I heard fighting." His helm angles towards the corpse of the fog assassin on the ground. "The Blight is close."
"Yeah," Lorez says. "You're a bit late. We're looking for this freaky man, he took off somewhere that way-" She waves a hand in the opposite direction of the fog assassin's corpse, "-and we don't know how to follow him."
"Hmm." The man strides over to the trees to the west of the clear. "I have some experience in tracking, I may be able to help." He crouches low to the ground for a moment before rising. "He went this way. You may follow me."

Mitsuna sat up in surprise at the "sound" of Noxa's Voice. Truly the situation must be dire, if Noxa would speak to the humble Therion directly.
"Of course. Noxa's will be done," she said out loud, before turning to Quill. "Lead on! To the North! Noxa has spoken!"

“As much as I appreciate the help, who are you exactly?” Paladin asked, not moving to follow the black-armoured stranger just yet. His sudden appearance had put the human on edge, and having encountered a humanoid that was affiliated with the Blight... he wasn’t sure he could trust him.

The stranger halted in his tracks, and turned back towards the group. "I'm just a hunter, who's as committed to destroying the Blight as any of you, perhaps even more so."
"Unlikely," Bellator grunts.
The man ignores him. "You may call me Nemo."

“That’s different. Your a channeller that took part in the fight, he isn’t. In fact his time of arrival makes him a little suspect.” Paladin explained to the flyer, why exactly he wasn’t sure if following Nemo was a good idea... but then he shrugged. “Still, its the only lead we have, and the old guy is too dangerous to just leave alone.”
