Non Sequitur: The Campaign

"Ooookay... But could we stop at a graveyard first so that we can make some preparations in case it's a trap? We are currently working for the same person who locked up and kind of has a personal vendetta against who gave us these powers..." Runeheart says, looking around slightly nervously.

"Well I didn't really get my powers form Discord... I was like this way before him... Just he only took away some of my control I had is all... Among other things." Maddie mutters to herself.

There was a loud creak from the doors behind them and a young, thin stallion walked in. He was fairly unremarkable, with light grey fur that was dyed blue in odd patches. "Excuse me, I-wait, no, crap! Hang on, hang on, lemme do that again."

Just as quickly as he had come, the stallion left. Outside, there were some odd noises and a flash of light, then he barged back in again, this time sporting large, blue, butterfly-like wings. "Excuse me! I have come for an audience with...well, anyone who will listen."

"Wow, how many somewhat silly and interesting ponies are in this castle anyways?" Runeheart asks, looking around the room expectantly.

"Think it's mostly just us. And the new ponies are now honorary members of our endeavors, whether they like it or not I bet." Mad Nopony comments with a giggle. "Are you the pony Celestia aka White Queen said would come for us?"

"Thaaaaaat depends," he said, "Which answer is less likely to get me expelled from castle grounds? I'm Tumbletop, at any rate."

"Just stick with this group then... It'll give you odds of walking out with us... Though you'll be highly likely get stuck in a quest to fight evil. So if that's less painful then getting in trouble walking around the royal castle without really knowing where your going. Then welcome to the team. If not... I still welcome you to the team... Likely you'll be punished to join us anyway I'd figure. Or something." Mad Nopony comments.

"That makes a decent amount of sense." Tumbletop nodded. "I don't really understand what's going on, but that's pretty normal. The world outside the circus is strange and fascinating. Besides, you mentioned you knew the White Queen, and I was hoping to meet her. So, where are we going and what use can I be?"

"Wait... I"m making sense? You clearly are insane, cause I only make nonsense... Also White Queen isn't Celestia's name, it's just a nickname that I'm using becuase I'm a Joker-Pony and we do that... It just sound silly when you say it." Maddie retorts. "For this Mad Nopony was once fighting Discord one on one with madness chaotic powers that did nothing thanks to the Dog of of Chaos being my enemy. So silly random nicknames is my Joker thing."

I stared in astonishment. "Three new comers within the hour! Truly, the Queen should consider a superior ward against intruders, if any one can just pop in like this all willy-nilly!"

"Welcome to the team both of you! I'm Runeheart, The one calling Celestia the White Queen is Maddie, and the one that looks like a bug but can still somehow pull it off is Androgyny… By the way I've been meaning to ask you guys, where's Sugar?" Runeheart says, turning to face Maddie and Andro with that last question.

"He's the insufferable little colt over there," Androgyny says, pointing at Sugar.

"He's... BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-" Etc etc.

"Well my full name is Mad Nopony, only Maddie to my friends..." The Green Earth Pony adds and glares at Runeheart for the laughter. "If I still had the power to do so... I'd have you join Sugar Rush as a fellow little foal... Might help your bloodlust as it does for Sugar's perviness..."

"Heheheh, if only, if only…" Runeheart says, his eye twitching a few seconds after talking.

I listened intently to the conversation. "Given time, I would wager that I could arrange for something like that..."

Tumbletop's eyes widened as he listened to the conversation. "Oh dear. What kind of group have I joined here? Oh! Oh wait, I'm supposed to be polite. Um, regardless, it's very pleasant to meet you all. Uh...Well, as long as I'm helping you, I'll happily do any flips and tricks you need. And I can fly a little bit."

"Any one can fly a little bit," I retorted. "It's called 'falling', if memory serves."

"Yup!" Tumbletop said, the sarcasm lost on him. "That's pretty much exactly what I do. But see, I'm a lot better at it than the average pony. These wings aren't just for show. Only mostly."

A rather bland pony hurriedly stumbles in through the hidden door in the wall, adjusting his glasses. "Hello there. Please follow me, I will take you to your overnight rooms. I am sorry for your wait, Celestia was distressingly vague on the number of rooms needed." He turns around (a "Kick Me" note can be seen on the back on his head) and starts walking back through the door from which he entered.

Mad Nopony grins at seeing the sign and totally follows thinking of kicking the bland one's flank for the lulz.

Androgyny follows as well.

Runeheart shrugs and follows, making sure to keep an eye out for anything suspicious, in case it was a trap.
