ok, Jason's song seems like it would be similar to Confrontation from Jekyll and Hyde. I've done that in a duet form by myself (mainly as a dare) and it can be hard to do. Sounds like we have multiple songs and duet combos we can record

ah, k, just to get it out there, I've got a baritone (tried to match a tenor, failed, so the next highest) and I can hit some low notes, we'd just need to get a score written for these songs which I am wiling to try for some at least, but other than that, we've got a plan, now we need to execute it. *BLAM*

But still, I'll need to do some prep work, but within a week I should be ready to record some songs.

What's prep work?

*Process for singing is literally get an instrumental, find the lyrics, practice for 5 minutes, sing, record, post*

I'm dimantleing my computer and moving it to another location, need to get more comfortable with the music and the recording software( I got Audacity, need to practice on it) and then I should be able to record. Also, if I need to hit high notes, either need to injure myself painfully or use a voice morpher to put my voice up to the octave needed.

So yeah, any recommendations for freeware voice recording/editing software? I doubt using Windows 7's built in recorder would do me any justice.

And do we need a list? Anyone can record whatever song he or she wants. Who knows, maybe we'll end up with various genre covers due to different tastes/backgrounds in music ^^

just trying to give everyone an idea of what to expect with the people going to sing the songs.

Does anyone know where to find instrumental versions of the songs? Because I have those but, of course, the files aren't compatible with Audiacity (the hell is a .m4a anyway?)

Alternatively, does anyone know a nice and simple (audio)file converter?

A more general one, mostly if the PC's ever delve into Tartarus (or, in this case, DnD's Nine Hells.) Probably best to invision a evil party.

The chorus was actualy supposed to be a bunch of ghostly soul-ponies, so a morpher would be a good way to make them sound....odd.

*grins* I've got a Glados impersonation, one for Darth Vader, one for the Great Mighty Poo (need to work on that one...) and a few others I've made by modifying some, I'll make a ghost chorus one so that we can use various takes seamlessly.

Plus I need good quality instrumentals of the songs which I can't seem to find anywhere...
