"Blast, the confusion didn't seem to have much effect. Oh, well." Skaimos again used the wound from the raptor as an entry point to send emotions of painful despair into Thornhill's mind.

Alma was growing frantic as combat continued. She still would not lash out at him directly, but continuing to boost her teammates was beginning to wear on her.

And then Tordek arrived being chased by two raptor riding swordsman, while an archer on foot approached from the sidelines of the battle.

The Pixie just tries attacking with her all as she throws more fire at the Thornhill.

The first swordsman swings at Tordek and misses and then spots the pixie in his path so swings at her too, stopping for a moment afterwards to let his raptor claw at her as well.

If Tordek would like to Defender one of those he can. Also I'm ruling that Tordek got the benefit of Tethe's nat 12 so he can use all his combat talents.

This was not Tordek's finest hour.

Tethe blinked, noticing the dwarf appeared to be on his last legs and turned her raptor towards Thornhill again. Charging towards him with her lance ready like a jousting knight. As she slammed into him she took the chance to smack him again with her shield as she passed before launching the glob of life energy she'd stolen during the charge towards the dwarf.

Thornhill grunts as he takes another hit from Tethe and slashes back at her and smacks the pixie down almost as an afterthought as his raptor bites Alma.

Edit: And he passes his save vs ongoing 1 damage.

Skaimos looked around at the reinforcements that had come to help Thornhill. Being almost out of energy, he brings up his telekinetic shield once more.

The other swordsman on his raptor rushes in to have it claw at Tethe while swinging his sword at Alma on the way.

The archer backs away a few steps and fires a shot at Alma as well, having apparently seen the stuff she'd been doing earlier.

The first swordman sees that Alma is about to fall and runs her down with his raptor.

Tethe growls softly to herself seeing another ally go down and charges forward again, raking her spear across Thornhill's back. "Well? Come on you coward, face me!"

Thornhill growled and swing his sword at Tethe and Tordek and has his raptor claw at Tethe as well.

Tethe gave a bloody grin, charging up close to Thornhill and slamming him once with her shield before drawing her spear back and running him through. She drew her spear back out with a kick and twirled it above her head. Divine energy surging inside of her for a moment before spreading out in rays of light. One hitting Cyrta and wrapping her in a shell of magic and the other slamming into both swordsmen.

Combat Stats:

Thornhill spasmed violently after falling to the ground. Tethe's spear was shown to be visibly cracked as the light disintegrated the two swordsmen. The archer ran over and tried to haul Thornhill onto the raptor which, bit him and tore out his throat.

Fight's over. Tordek is KOed right now even though mechanically speaking he shouldn't be. Tethe and Skaimos can make rolls to capture raptors but, most likely at least one of the three is gonna get away.

Tethe sighs for a moment trying to catch her breath. She looks at her damaged spear for a moment before noticing the raptors trying to escape. "Oh no you don't!" She yells as she rides after them, grabbing hold of their reigns and forcing them into line. Once she's got control of them, she dismounts her own raptor for a few moments to sling her downed allies over the backs of some of the ones she'd caught and starts as gentle a ride as she can back to the caravan to drop off the injured and raptors with Smithe and the caravan.

raptor capture roll:

"...We did it. Lex-Iya-san, we..." Skaimos' eyes widened in horror as he looked over at Alma. The swordsman and the raptor's attacks had been enough to send her bleeding to the ground. Skaimos rushed over to her. "Lex-Iya-san, just hold on. We'll get you healed up quickly, just like Thag, you just need to-"

Alma put a hand over his mouth. "Terai-san, I...don't worry over me. Did...did we get..."

Skaimos nodded. "Thornhill is dead. He...he can't hurt you anymore...he can't hurt anyone anymore."

Alma gave a little smile. "Then that is enough. I can now go to my ancestors in peace. Be...be sure to help Mykaila-chan back to her home."

"Lex-Iya-san, don't talk like that. Your wounds aren't that bad. You'll be right as rain, and we'll go on to travel together for as long as you wish."

"Ter...Skaimos-san, do you still look upon me as worthy of your company?"

"...Of course, Alma-san. You have never lost value in my sight."

"Then...hold me, please. Don't leave me until I slumber, and I will be satisfied."

Tears streaming down his face, Skaimos cradled Alma's head until her eyes closed for the last time.

Tethe was silent as she walked up behind Skaimos. She stayed silent for a long moment before clearing her throat. "I could freeze her... Her body'll keep till we get to Hanko that way. We'll be able to have her sent back to her home and given a proper rest if we do...."

The Pixie... Just hovers in the air... Just in total shock once she realized that Alma died... And slowly she starts to cry. But later on she tries to be useful and look over the items they had gotten from the corpse of Thornhill.

Thag and Uhiya walked up just in time to hear Tethe's words. Thag cursed, "kor." and Uhiya just sighed somberly and they both went to the task of looting. After a few more minutes it becomes clear Tordek isn't waking up. John and the Habertons, help Uhiya and Thag, and then when the three party members are ready, help them put Alma and Tordek in the wagons. Meanwhile Mykaila joins Cyrta in crying.

Over the next few days, the trio attempts to do what they can for Tordek but, despite their efforts he eventually succumbs to his wounds. The next day gives a reprieve from sad news as you come across a large and colorful caravan of over a dozen wagons of various size and design coming the other direction that Tethe recognizes.

Since nobody's contacted me for the extra slot and I didn't really have any way to reasonably draw things out... we're just letting DB play Maihime for now. And introducing Caden's character as well.

Loot gain from this fight, including Alma and Tordek's money: 3 sets of chainmail, 3 bows, a crossbow, a scimitar, four swords, a naginata (which Tethe takes to replace her broken spear), 6 raptors, and 1619 gold. (That's after Uhiya and Thag taking their cut. You might want to discuss how to divide that up OOC and that should probably be an event that took place before the new characters joined. Not that I'm assuming you guys are gonna be all greedy about things and not get good loot and stuff for everyone equally but, it may come up sometimes IC who has how much money on them.)

Also a magic katana which Cyrta identifies with the following properties: Ignores 2 points of Resistance and Deals +4 damage when Weakened (that's before Weakened is factored in).

I should also note that Maihime having Enchantment means she can enchant weapons (to a limited degree based on her knowledge of matters arcane that increases the more she studies) and can move enchantments from one like thing to another. For example the katana's magic to another weapon.
