Adventures in Saint-Trotez - Backstage (OOC)

Adventures in Saint-Trotez is a campaign which mainly takes place in the city in the title, similarly to how the Friendship is Dragons comic is set in Ponyville. You won't move out of the city much, but many events will happen in the city in "episodes", the first of which will follow the event of Mental Magic's show mentioned above. I guess this means that it technically is a story based campaign, so if you are looking for one of those, hopefully this is what you want. I think I'm only going to have four slots, I don't want my first game to be too large...

As usual, all legal races and talents are allowed, starting at level 1. I'm allowing up to 8 Racial Points, since that's the cool thing to do now, as well as any Special Move or Combat Talent from my own Combat Ideas thread, so I suggest you take a look to see if you spot anything you fancy. On that note, I feel that I should mention that I am not allowing Flaws, even though a lot of recent campaigns are. I'm going to ask if you guys want me to allow items as well. It's not too much trouble to include them, but I won't if you don't wish me to...

If there are any questions, this is the thread to ask them...

This sounds familiar somehow... anyway I am requesting a spot. Not including items would be an odd choice and I like items so I say keep them.

Also, as a heads up, for that character you posted, you could replace Finishing School with Cultural Knowledge and a 1 point racial and you'd have the same utility talents as before as well as one extra racial trait...

two things you need 2 more race points, and you have one too many Utilities.

Fair enough. I see the racial traits and Genetic Engineering in general more as an extra bunch of talents, so I won't force you to make the change. Anyway, your character is good to go, and I'm happy to see that you've taken Family Discount, so I'll be interested in seeing how it plays out. Welcome aboard...

Tempted to ask if we can also use Talent Specialization and Harmonious Elements but that's a bit too much.

I'll wish to look at your custom talent and trait beforehand, but if I don't see any problem with it, you will be allowed to take it...

As for Talent Specialisation and Harmonious Elements, I'm not too sure. Elements, maybe, but I feel the Talents one adds too much in one go. However, I will allow the other players to decide. If they are happy to use either or both add-ons and wish for me to use them, then I shall accommodate...

Hmm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Alter Ego just a visual thing? I don't think you get the extra racial traits and what not. Everything else seems to be in order though, so welcome aboard...

Erm, I'm on the wall between saying yes and saying that you should use the traits in the 8 Point Template thread. Does anyone have any ideas on how other campaigns chose to do this?

Sentinel's Shield: If you allow it, your players will be wishing for Strom to quit hogging all the damage.

I didn't say it was a bad thing... Just was what I felt about that weapon.

Hmm. My initial thoughts of the Sentinel's Shield is that the pip costs of the talents tied to the shield themselves seem to be a bit on the small side, and none of the talents has the "The (Weapon X) Vanishes" condition that all the official -7 talents do. I also didn't realise that by talent, you meant combat talent. The only way to gain additional combat talents is with the combat traits Talented and Dangerously Talented, so you wouldn't be able to have both the talent and trait at level 2 (although you'd have both at level 3). Also, for the trait, am I correct in thinking that you can only swap between weapons you took in?

Yes, only between the weapons you take in

So, I'm assuming you are not going to allow me to swap a talent out for the shield at lvl 2?

And yeah, of course their gonna be on the small size. The talents for a weapon, can be considered at a +2 to a non-weapon talent. As for the no weapon vanishes condition? That's done on purpose.

I guess you can swap a talent out, that's fine...

Okay, I'll allow it, but if I feel it's too strong when we see it in action, I'll ask for you to not use it, if that's okay with you...

Just a heads up Fury, Hurricane Blade was changed so that the blade vanishes when you use Call the North Wind, so you might wanna update your character sheet. I'll be looking over everyone's sheets when I get a chance. Also thank you Tyger for updating your character sheet with delicious, delicious backstory...

That character always had a backstory just had to change it from the version I wanted to use for Kingdom Pony (Dead)

Seems it is just you three then. I'm going to need some time to rebalance some encounters, but I plan on sending you messages about where you start, why you are there, and getting some last mental ideas about your characters...

Also, apparently it's considered norm to consider ponykinesis as a 1 point racial trait instead of a 2 point one, so if anyone took it at 2 points, congratulations, you got an extra racial point to spend...
