For reference, to make up for the fact that the "opposition" (myself) is controlling him, instead of bringing five moves into battle for Luthier I'll use whatever seems prudent to at the time and determine which five moves I've brought in that way.
Wasting no time, Grizzle darts forward, sword brandished. A simple flick of the hoof, and the scientist brings up some sort of force field, crackling with energy, from who knows where.
Grizzle grits his teeth and slashes straight through it.
The scientist barely dodges in time - she would have had her head cut off otherwise - and looks at Grizzle, eyes wide -not that anypony can really tell. He reaches the opposing wall, almost slamming into it, and gives an appreciative "Hmm. That's how you survived relatively unscathed. But it looks like your barrier gets a little weaker with each strike against it..."
Meanwhile, the Earth pony guard fires across the room at the entering Brilliant Shimmer. "More coming!" he shouts.
Luthier responds by gritting his teeth and sending an assortment of instruments flying through the air. They congeal, so to speak, around the Unicorn Guard further away from him, and began blasting two different tunes as loud as they can - one sharp and annoying, the other catchy as Tartarus.
The scientist screams - more an emotion than any word - raising her weapon to point at Grizzle. She fires, and he flinches backwards, finally hitting the wall. Then she tosses some small device over her shoulder which puffs out a burst of blue smoke. Brilliant Shimmer takes the full brunt of the blast.
- Results of turns:
- Grizzle used stab, rolling a 10 - unfortunately, as an NPC, he does not cause Critical Moves to happen. The Earth Pony scientist hit Brilliant Shimmer for 6 damage. Composed Luthier used Mocking Melody and Orchestrate on Unicorn Guard B - he now receives 1d8 damage every time he rolls less than a 4 and 1d6 damage whenever Luthier suffers damage. The scientist did 3 damage to Grizzle and cause Brilliant Shimmer to become dazed(save ends). I swear I chose targets randomly, except for Grizzle.
It is now Iggy's turn - watch out for falling numbers.

The Pegasus yelped, stepping back a pace, then looking up sharply. Then, seeing what was before it, it seemed to sag slightly before turning to the room and shouting "We've got a dragon..."

Cobbled reached into his saddlebags, pulling out a small sack, the contents, piles of dust, enchanted with both harmful magic and healing.
He reached it and pulled some out, blowing it into the Unicorn Guard's face.
So, anyone need anything to do with this healing powder?
Yeah, brilliant, I'd say you look a bit worse for wear than the rest of us
He also blew some of the other powder onto Shimmer, this time much more gently, allowing it to set on her neck

The trick to them actually being somewhat of a challenge revolves around them being able to get a move in before anypony attacks them.

Brilliant's ears are still wringing from that blast when Cobbled throws some kind of powder at her. Her wounds close but the ringing doesn't stop. She makes a mental note to thank him later and takes cover behind an exploded bit of machinery. "The scientist has a shield, watch it!"

"Thanks for pointing that out," one of the Pegasi grumbles sarcastically, unleashing a salvo of blasts from the two previously-unseen weapons beneath its wings. The blasts ricochet off of the metal protecting Brilliant Shimmer and end up grazing - if that - Costume Change and Wandering Eye instead.

- Sorry about the infrequent updates - to be perfectly honest, I've just been really mentally tired and don't want to do this lately. But that's not an excuse or an attempt to garner sympathy - it's simply an explanation. To battle.
...oh, and Pegasus Guard A is bloodied.
The Pegasus stumbles back from Cosutme Change's claws, and though the sunglasses prevent anypony from being certain it sure feels like his eye widen. "What the hay are you?!" In repsonse to this, the Earth pony Guard gasps a little and brings his weapon to bear, firing off a blast or two at the apparent werepony.
Meanwhile, Grizzle leaps into the air, utilizing his wings to bring another slicing attack down upon the scientist's shields.

- So Costume Change has taken 5 damage from the Earth pony Guard and Grizzle has delivered another Stab. I'm going to check in with Curunir (who is apparently back) and see whether he wants me still controlling him or what, then we'll be able to continue.

Luthier heard Shimmer's warning about the scientist's shield- and diverted his attention to her anyways. He doubted her field could block sound- he could at least keep her distracted. His cloud of instruments floated over to where Grizzle and the scientist where fighting, playing in time with Grizzle's movements, a few of the rotating woodwinds probing the shield, blocked by its energy, but perhaps weakening it enough for Grizzle or someone else to make it through.
- Combat:
[+2] Mocking Melody - Standard Utility
Target creature is subjected to your mocking melody (save ends). A creature subjected to your mocking melody suffers 1d8 damage whenever they roll a 4 or lower on a d8, d10 or d12.
[-1] Orchestrate (Barter in Blood) - Minor Utility
Target creature is subjected to your “Bloody Contract” (save ends). While the creature is subjected to your “Bloody Contract”, it suffers 1d6 damage whenever you are dealt damage.
[-X] Fanfare of Inspiration and Intimidation (Drain Blood) - Minor Attack
Deal X damage to target creature. Target creature gains X+2 life. X cannot be less than 1.
All targeting the scientist pony- Mocking Melody (save ends), (Bloody Contract) (Save Ends), and 1 damage. Grizzle gains 3 life (I believe he is the only one injured?)
Seems I don't have to worry about picking combat talents after all, since Shimmer got her "Tactical Genius" 12 critical again.

The pony in the lab coat flinched back from the instruments, now looking somewhat worried. With a grim look upon her face, she lifted some potion or another to her face and drank greedily, even as her shield continued to lose power around her.
