Since when does Skitter eat crystals?

Waiting on someone else to do or say something else.

He was just making a deadpan joke. I guess that didn't translate well.

Well, considering dragons are capable of eating precious stones/metals (they eat their treasure hoards, among other things), I imagine Kobolds/Dragonborn (both descendants of dragons, in varying degrees) would be able to as well.

Of course, eating crystals likely wouldn't be very (or at all) tasty/nutritious to a Kobold. Not to mention the potential indigestion/stomach problems, the fact that crystals tend to be very point and sharp, and/or tooth damage (via biting down hard) that might occur from such mineral-based foods, for a mostly-carnivorous-diet-adapted species.

Still, it's better than eating rocks/sawdust/nothing.

Still a waste of good money though.

"Okay, I'll help~" Rabiah chirped as the Hummingbird flew over to her and went right into the pouch. "So where are we going?"

"Well, right now. To sleep. Tomorrow we'll get you initiated into the organization. Just follow along for now." Skitter says, leaving to go to their new secret base.

I second that motion. Though I would like a good description of our new base if we're gonna be keeping it for a while.

"Hey, what are we doing with these?" Horizon holds up the newly acquired red gemstone. "Hoarding, selling, using to summon hideous abominations to do our bidding, what?"

I don't remember what the red stones do, but if they're the ones we look through to see invisible stuff, then I'm pretty sure I already have one.

"Hoarding, mostly. They allow us to see through Zilean's illusions, so the more we have, the better. You can give that one to Rabiah if you like." He looked over at the Hawkling. "Well, I'm sure that there may be some minor paperwork involved later, but for now, welcome to Scythe." Rolf started to follow Skitter to the secret hideout.

Jeraylia gave Rabiah a warm smile and then fell in with others in heading to the hideout.

Once everyone had come inside (and making sure that there was nobody who was watching them enter), Rolf closed the door. "Now, Rabiah, what you're about to see, and the mission that we're going to be woken up for, is super-top-secret. You can't tell anyone about this, not even the mayor, understand?" Rolf then took the kitten ring and placed in the indentation in the bird engraving.

Right then, lets put it at a vote: Do you want to all have an actual combat encounter now (good opportunity for a "Rabiah combat test", as well as the new combat stuff you got), or just face the consequences of the trap as a skill check / challenge?

Either way, roll acrobatics Rolf.

I'm slightly worried that if we have combat we'll be destroying our own secret base's defense measures.

Well, that's what you have options of "KOing", "defeating" or "killing" your opponents, depending on how much overkill you apply.

And you're frankly more viable to do "property" damage out of combat (utilities, crits...).

"Wait, didn't Damiana say something about the tail-feathers OH SHIT!!!"

...Has Rolf spent his Magic Point yet? Because if he hasn't, he'll use it for this.

Clumsy, clumsy ROOOOOOOOLF!! The worst part? I actually DID see that, but I figured "circular indent = circular ring". Go figure.

...Sigh. Well, I suppose this could be a good bit of combat practice. Hopefully I can use Magecraft to fix it later.

Well, if combat involves the least property damage, combat it is. Because we should choose the less property damage route at least once ever.

Jeraylia thought she heard a slight creaking the moment Rolf placed the ring onto the engraving. She was about to open her mouth when the squishy cloth wearer pushed the key in and the suits swung down with their halberds. With a yelp, she grabbed onto the scarf around his neck and gave it a strong yank backwards.

Idea!

What if she could use her hurricane rapier while flying because the wind generated by it keeps her up in the air?

Jeraylia pulls Rolf back, knocking him onto his butt, but moving him out of the way, just in time to avoid an unpleasant cleaving.

The pair of suits then lift their weapons, step off their platforms, and engage the intruders present.

Just a heads up: The enemies have resist, and a trait that affects daze/stuns/domination in a special manner (they still work, just slightly differently).
