Vari stretches and lets out a yawn. Then she looks at the guards and asks, "So, where can I grab a few quiet winks to my lonesome?"

Vari gave a non-committal shrug. She had other things on her mind besides telling the madpony her strengths and weaknesses.

Vari frowns and heads over to an edge of the deck, presumably looking at the water. Of course what she's really doing is examining the ship itself.
So yeah, what's the race composition of our guards? (Including the four below deck if we've seen them.) And yeah, basically she's looking for anything like portholes or such.
Perception: 10 + 10 = 20

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
The races on deck are three earth ponies, three unicorns, and the two tasers are pegasus ponies. Below deck, you know that there is another taser pegasus, and no other tasers are on-board, but your not too sure of the races of the other three guards. There is also a pegasus captain piloting the ship, but he doesn't look like that much of a fighter...Ramsus wrote:So yeah, what's the race composition of our guards? You see a couple of portholes as look over the ship's edge...

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
Vari spends a couple minutes to really try to memorize where those portholes are and which spots look like they'd have the best/worst footing for her. Then she just stares out to sea.
And she'll continue to do that for about twenty minutes unless something else comes up in the meantime.

Selena takes some time to watch the guards' habits, taking special note of any who seem either to have some amount of sympathy or just to be weak.

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
Jade begins pacing the deck, looking down at different points on the floor as though inspecting the quality of its manufacture. In reality she was trying to figure out where they had placed her belongings, if the guard wasn't lying about the captain getting their former possessions (she wouldn't be surprised if he had been lying, it seemed like a mistake to have a boat of criminals paired with dangerous cargo). She always had had a good sense for finding things, and in particular had almost a bond with the items she sought and owned. When she suddenly stood still, face pointing at wherever her belongings (and likely the others', as well) were stashed, it simply looked like part of her pacing and staring.
"There you are..." She muttered.
"There you are..." She muttered.
- Spoiler:
- Using Thattaway! to locate the direction of her belongings.
Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
You spot that the two tasers are having a conversation between each other at the front of the ship, the three earth pony guards are standing ever vigil, watching from the quarterdeck, and the three unicorn guards are patrolling the ship's deck to make sure you criminals don't do anything. One of the unicorn guards seem a mixture of impatient and bored...thematthew wrote:

You manage to hid your locks away from the view of the guards...
(Anyone who wishes to attempt to notice Selena hid her locks away will need to roll perception...)
You spin to the direction in which the boat is more or less heading. One of the unicorn guards on patrol gets tired of your pacing and demands that you either stand still of sit down...Curunir wrote:

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
So they hadn't been that dumb- their possessions were at their destination. That presented a dilemma- it might be more difficult to escape later. Terracotta started to look around to see what the other criminals were up to- she was sure they were already plotting how to escape. But she was rudely interrupted by a guard that had apparently had enough of her moving about and looking at things.
"...I just got out of my cell. You can't blame me for wanting to move around and look about!"
But she complied with the guard's order, dramatically placing her manacled hooves under her and falling down violenty into a sitting position onto her manacles. That failing to work, she fidgeted so that her hooves could blindly work at the lock underneath her, trying to do so in such a way that the guards wouldn't notice. It wasn't as subtle as she would've hoped, and she couldn't tell if the guards might already be coming for her...
"Ow... curse these manacles. Damned itchy uncomfortable things... They're not the most comfortable seats..."
She tried to pass off her continued fidgeting as discomfort. And it was true she wasn't very comfortable...

- Rolls:
- Roll 1 + 9 Perception = 10 CRITICAL FAILURE to notice what the other inmates are up to. Probably not too aware of the guards either...

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
Bullion appears to be lost in thought, a convenient cover for his observations. He was fairly certain at least a few of the other prisoners were planning to make a move soon and so turns to the nearest group of guards and attempts to distract them: "I say, how much is the Warden paying you fine gentlecolts for this job? It certainly can't be enough to have to put up with miscreants and blackguards of the foulest nature... or us, for that matter. Certainly exceptional individuals such as yourselves would find more satisfaction among the ranks of the Royal Guard... "

Spider Pony is looking out to sea, the Panther is sleeping, the earth pony is doing a poor job attempting to break out of her shackles, and you see through her lie about her itchiness (although she does seem itchy), and the unicorn seems to being doing something maybe possibly perhaps...Retrokinesis wrote:

One of the Pegasus ponies reply first. "It's never enough, is it? But the Royal Guard doesn't use these babies," he answers, tapping his storm cloud...
Before he continues talking, one of the unicorn guards give him a half-serious whack on the head with their baton and warns the taser "No small talk with the criminals.". He then gives you a dirty look and continues to patrol the ship's deck...

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
And then, suddenly, the spiderpony leapt over the side of the ship. She let herself free fall for a moment while she broke free of her bonds, then grabbed onto the ship and quickly climbed her way to the nearest porthole. She then smashed it in, climbed through, and hid on the other side where she set herself up to catch (and possibly break) the pegasi she presumed would be following after her between the chains that had previously been used to bind her.
Athletics to break bonds: 18 + 8 = 26
Athletics to climb around on the ship: 18 + 15 + 5 = 38
Athletics to break in porthole: 18 + 16 = 34

Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
At this time Jill reveals herself to have been working on her level three horn dampener this whole time... As she has right then a tampering alarm. "Oh buck, plan-boost time!" The Green Unicorn thinks aloud as her eyes glow for a second and the horn dampener flys off landing and locking onto one of the unicorn guards... This was a totally unexpected outcome, so after two blinks Jill quickly tries to save face by saying. "Oh yes... About time I did that. Could've done it at any time, just now seemed like a fun moment." She did tried to open her other chains... But... Her luck seemed to not win out there, but she didn't seem fazed that much by still being in her other chains, she got the major item off. That's what matters.

You are successful in all the things. And as predicted, a pegasus flies down to the porthole, storm cloud in hoof, and demands you exit the ship. He is waiting just outside the porthole...Ramsus wrote:Athletics to break bonds: 18 + 8 = 26

Everyone still on the deck sees the earth pony guards start to head down to the deck, and one of the unicorn guards heads into the ship...
You do just that. As the dampener locks, the unicorn guard begins to wither in pain. He was definitely not expecting that. The other pegasus begins to start up their storm cloud while the final unicorn guard is moving towards you to give you a proper good thwacking...Xel Unknown wrote:

Jill takes five seconds to prepare a powerful sleep spell to knock out at least the guard coming for her.
- Arcana check:
- 1D20+20-2 => [ 18 ] +20-2(5 seconds) = 36 + 5(Heart of Courage) = 41
Maybe that means I knocked out both the guard coming and every in that direction? *hopes for more than one guard KOed*
Re: Hayday - On Set (IC)
Due to the five seconds you take to prepare the spell, the unicorn manages to get a swing of his baton on you...Xel Unknown wrote:

You manage to remain focused, and your sleep spell hits both the unicorn guard and the taser. It does not hit the three earth pony guards who have now finally reached the deck and quickly making a move towards you, weapons drawn...Xel Unknown wrote:Endurance Check: 1D20+4 => [ 11 ] +4 = 15... With a sudden burst of catlike speed Selena pulls her manacles out from under her and lunges to catch two of the Earth Ponies unaware as they menace their way by. As soon as her package is in place she grins her trademark grin as she starts to dash towards Bullion.
