After some crazy **** goes down, everypony is lying on the floor for one reason or another, and the stuff on the table in the center of the room are scattered everywhere. To finish it off, Navi finally returns with the pie and drops it on Zacharias's face.

"Ohhh, good one fairy-thingie!" Maddie giggles at the fairy's actions then gets super serial. "Well regardless... Now that oddness is over with, let's get back to the issue of getting stuff to then head out and travel the world to maybe fight some evilness that turned Princess Luna evil."

Quite suddenly everything went to pot. Frankly, I can't recall exactly what happened; one minute I was declaring the destruction of Canterlot and the next I was on the floor along with everything else, and Navi was dropping pie on my face.

Well. Better on my face than none at all. I proceeded to lick the parts my tongue could reach, using a hoof to get the parts it couldn't into my mouth. It turned out to be a blueberry pie.

"It needs more... hmm. More what? More more-ness, I guess. Sometimes less is more, and sometimes more is more," I stated, a little bit at a loss for words. Something was missing. I sure didn't know what though... Or maybe there just flat out wasn't enough of it. No matter.

Getting to my feet, I went into the other room to select the tools of adventuring.

At the very least I would need a decent knife. A coil of rope wouldn't hurt either. I also selected a cast iron skillet, with nice deep sides; sufficient to be used as a pot for stew, as well, without being so deep as to be useless for frying. A saddlebag to hold them in. A chunk of flint? I could make fire with sticks or magic, but it wouldn't take up much space.

Of course, magic *could* get me any of those things. But it was a bit unreliable in that regard, and there might be occasion to conceal the fact that I could do such things in the future. It also occurred to me to assemble a travel-worthy potion brewer's kit; there should be one in here somewhere...

"Uggggghhhhhh..." Tumbletop was lying on the ground with no idea what had just happened. All he heard was something about fighting evil. "Izzat what you guys do? Fight evil? I'd like to fight evil. Do you need someone who's good at jumping in things or sommat?"

As I looked through the various piles and rows of miscellany, Navi was very consistent in pointing things out to me. One moment it would be, "Hey! Knives!" The next it was bags, fire starters, tents, bedrolls, ropes, and any number of other things of various usefulness.

Finally she seemed t get frustrated. "Hey!"

I shook my head. I had waited a long time to say this. "Hay is for ponies like us, Navi. Are you a pony?"

She stared at me in disbelief before she could make her mouth function. "...Lllllisten!"

Before I could deliver a retort I heard a voice from the other room...

"Evil? Who said anything abut evil? I'm fighting boredom in a battle for my individuality, not evil. Not that evil isn't worth fighting, of course."

Zacharias manages only to find a multipurpose skillet/pan/thing for cooking that has 4 attached bowls and folds into a square only slightly larger than Navi.

"...Bother. They have folding pans with detachable plates, but they don't have suitable utility knives!? Perhaps I need my lenses checked... could you maybe polish them a little, Navi?"

"Geeze, I'm not your slave or servant. Besides, it's not like you're a cripple or such. You can clean them yourself!" Navi goes under Zacharias's fez and pulls out a soft cloth, dropping it on his nose.

Your servitude for the safety my proximity provides from something you still haven't told me about? Or that's what you told me all those years ago the last time I asked."

"Don't think about it... It's fixed now..." Maddie said forcefully, not fully understanding what she had done. But was sure that thinking too much could make an "End of the world" level paradox, or worse... "I mean it's just a normal map now... Or did we lose a map as well of Equestria."

A knock comes at the door to the room, which is still open. "Uhm, excuse my interruption, but Celestia asked me to inform you that you should expect to wait a while for your companion to return. I recommend you get comfortable - at least, as comfortable as you can get in these rooms. I would rather sleep in the top security prison rooms! Then again, that " The pony quickly leaves and shuts the door, talking to himself, probably on the way to yet more duties.

I listened intently. "Prison"?

"I HEARD THAT!" I shouted after him. (I didn't really hear anything; I just wanted to see if he'd jump.) I then went into the bedroom. Sure enough, it didn't look too comfortable.

"Say, Runeheart! You want to come help me? We can do better than this," I called out to my fellow magician, gesturing across the sparsely furnished room. "Let me just take a moment to write something suffiecently offens- I mean suitable! Of course."

"Behind the queenly mask they say,
A princess has many needs to meet;
For even the most queenly of mares
Must sleep in softer sheets!

Our Princess has scarlet curtains
Or so I've heard it told.
In silken sheets she does compete

"Well he's one of the two newbies to our little group... He just came out of nowhere. Might be a time traveler or who knows what... Maybe he's from another realm altogether..." Maddie comments thinking back on her own crazy history with both of those topic that she can only half-recall. "The other newbie is just some pony who was going around the cassle where they shouldn't have, so they've joined us to stay out of trouble... Kinda..."

Suddenly the entire set of rooms is swept up in a swirl of temporarily blinding colors and magics. When everything settles down, the party finds the adventurer's quarters to be nearly as luxurious as the ro0oms they were initially imprisoned in by Celestia. ("ro" and "oms" are two different links in the word "rooms", go to ro first. Just links to remind what they were like.)
