The Sun Sets

Sleuth:
The pegasi keep staring at you. One of them stands in your way for a moment, "You lost?" "Cowl!" One of them snaps from the middle of the crowd. "There's no problem, let him be."

Sunburst:
You can feel a pounding in your head, a pounding that begins speeding up. Your wings start to twitch violently, and Quick Fix leans over you. "Ohhh myyy, areee youuu oookayyy? Cannn youuu hearrr meee?" His speech is incredibly slow for some reason. You feel something warm trickling down onto your lips.

Gearick:
"It's no trouble, please. I actually have a request I need to make of you, if you'd be so kind. I am in need of a bit of assistance."

Storm:
As you're preparing your mixture, the door to the lab opens and Juniper walks in. She comes to stand next to you, but doesn't speak again. She watches what you're doing intently.

Scales:
You didn't see where the surgeon got off too, so all you can do is wander around looking for him. Eventually you find him in a break room, chatting with three Royal Guards. One of them is the guard that spoke to Dodger earlier.

Gearick, you can roll perception as well, but its not necessary.
Storm, you can do your antidote thing if you want, assuming you aren't distracted.

Storm raises a questioning eyebrow, but continues his work.

Storm:
After a few moments, you have most of the ingredients portioned out- all except for the wood. Because its a single solid, simply measuring out the proper amount isn't possible- you need a way to determine an accurate amount.

Sunburst:
The liquid hits your tongue, and you instantly recognize it as blood. You recognize it... and that brings a sense of calmness to you, that you aren't in bad shape, you know what's going on. You feel your heartbeat slow again. Quick Fix's words speed back up as he speaks "Oh dear, a nosebleed... that could be some sinus damage, or a synaptic dysfunction..." You realize the itch in your tail is actually a tickling on your hoof, from where your tail is rubbing against it.

Sleuth:
You notice that the Pegasus in the middle of the group is slowly placing something behind him, and that several of the Pegasi seem to be wearing large chains around their shoulders. The one blocking your path, Cowl, is sporting day old scorch marks across his neck and chest. As you notice all of this, the other pegasus speaks again. "Keep moving, buddy. There's no trouble here, just mind your own business."

Storm, roll your antidote making check with the bonus whenever. We can assume you take 20 on figuring out the wood bits if you want, or you can try to figure it out.

Bells looks around. After some thought, she decides to go exploring, heading up the stairs.

Perception:

Bells:
You head up the stairs, reaching the second floor, though the stairs continue up another floor. However, you are distracted from that thought by what must be sobbing, coming from down the hall. Peering down, you can see a tail lying on the floor, sticking out from a doorway.

Bells approaches the sobbing sound and the tail in the hallway. "Ho, hello? Are you hokey?"

There's a gasp, and the sobbing get's quiet. The tail recedes into the door just a bit. A shaky voice answers. "I-I-I'm fine... please, go away."

"Are you sure? Talking about it could help." Bells says, trying to sound soft and kind.

"I... it won't..." The female voice doesn't sound sure.

Bells walks around to the doorway. "It may not help with the situation, but it can help with ho you feel about it. Dealing with something is often the hardest part."

She doesn't say anything else, and just continues sobbing. When you reach the door and she finally comes into view, you immediately see the problem. The poor mare has been beaten, soundly. She has two black eyes and a bloody nose, and bruises along her neck and sides.

Bells gasps. "Sh... what happened? Who did this?"

The mare shakes her head and curls up on the floor.

Bells lays down next to her and slowly, carefully puts an arm around her. "Ho, lets... lets start with the little things, then. My name is Silver Bells. What is your name?"

The battered mare instinctively pulls away from you. She keeps sobbing, and doesn't look at you. "B-Blackberry..."

She nods shakily. "M-my son... and husband..."

She stops sobbing a bit, relaxing a little more. "Autumn Leaf, and Mahogany. Au-Autumn's 7."

She shakes her head. "N-no, he's a late bloomer, like his dad."

"He should be at home..."

Bells breathes in slightly. "Is that outside of the... the... sick area?"

"....no...." She collapses into tears again.
