Updated. Added in the horsemech, switched Crippling Strike with Dazzling Performance and switched Forcefield with Many Tongues.

Mjh6, I think you should put the actual unicorn racial traits and include what magic ability spellchild affects.

Not just that, the character needs background. Some sort of backstory is needed for a character to be even considered eligible for a spot.

One misconception I've noticed is that HorseMechs are still considered Companions. Thus, one who uses Specialist to get "even" stats would be all 5s. The mechs are running off of a different scaling than the ponies so even one with 3 in a physical stat is still quite powerful.

Good question. When the team forms HorseTron, they will still use their individual builds for most of the fight. I'll probably create some sort of passive buff for them to differentiate between fusion and the mechs fighting alone. The end of the battle will have a specialized super attack to finish off a villain if the team chooses to use it.

Players won't start with their mechs but will find them very early on in the story. For those having difficulty fleshing out their characters can try using Dan's stickied thread for ideas.

Yes.  Actually making a bit of a major shift in restrictions.  Both are allowed if character goals/backstory can justify them.  Virtue of Genetics is still in a weird place though until it gets its new name.

Going to open up custom created builds with some caveats.  While it can be different than the book races, it has to be a sentient race from the show (AKA no hippogriffs).  Almost thinking of allowing non-human G1 races since I'll be not so subtly using parts of G1 in the campaign anyway.  Stairc's questionnaire is now more of a requirement than a suggestion since I'd really like to get into the character's heads, though you can PM me instead of publicly post if you want to keep those parts of the backstory secret.

Yes.  Some stuff may not be feasible but that'll be worked out for specific utilities.

The problem with doing this is that the pony is too far to the right for my liking and I have no idea how to shift them more into the middle.

Ooooohhh, that.  I believe the part of the program that allows you to do poses also allows you to re-position their place on the screen.  There's also the option to use something like GIMP to crop the image.  Worst case scenario, post the pony image and someone else can help you with cropping/centering it.

What about Companion?

Unlikely since the mech is already a Companion of sorts as it is they explicitly have a non stacking rule. What would you be using it for?

That sounds more like flavor for the combat build than an extra companion. Plus, extra Companions means even more to have to stat out and keep up with.

If anyone doesn't mind and if it is not too late I may throw my hat into the ring because well you all are short a person or two...

Side not may have to talk about sweet and elite...

Feel free to submit.  I added a hefty entry time so those interested get time to plan rather than just being whoever shouts first.  What were your concerns about Sweet and Elite?

Most characters from the show won't directly appear in the campaign.  Some side characters might show up in differing roles and I may pull characters from other parts of the franchise since I'm pretty open about being a G1 fan.    Mane 6 won't exist and neither will Celestia and Luna.  The latter two are interesting since that means the throne is open.  I may fill it with an NPC but it's also possible for a player with Sweet and Elite to be the overruling prince/princess of Equestria.  It's a double edge sword in some ways but it is an option.

The worry that he isn't ever going to be a hero and isn't helping anyone.

He would probably dive into fire for anyone.

To be a hero and protect all of Equestria.

To be of use to others.

His little sister Golden Bit. The two of them spent much more time with each other than their parents, and she fully supports his desire to go out on his own. The day he left, she told him to go out and become a hero, a promise which he took a bit more seriously than she intended.

7) What is the most important place in your character’s life? Why? Describe the most important moment your character ever spent in that place.
Manehatten Preparatory School for Young Unicorns. It was there where Diamond Dust saw a bunch of older students harassing a first year and tried to intervene.He was partially successful (in that the bullies turned to him and stopped bothering their first victim) and he received his cutie mark, inspiring him to protect others from harm.

How would you summarize your character in 1 sentence?
An enthusiastic, naive wannabe hero.

9) What do you, as a player and artist, hope to gain by playing *this* character?
I hope to gain more experience role-playing, and playing someone so enthusiastic would be a new challenge.

Diamond Dust has a burn scar on his left foreleg he got from his cutie mark incident. He has another light scar on his cheek he got when he was little trying to catch a knocked over vase that he ended up accidentally breaking with his magic anyway.

11) How are your values connected to your character’s values?
He believes in the importance of helping others over everything, something I appreciate.

12) What secret would your character least like the world to know?
He flunked out of the Academy for the Royal Guard in less than a year.

The Academy for the Royal Guard.It was the focus of his life for several years, and he was devastated when it was clear he just didn't have the proper temperament to be part of the Guard.

14) How are at least two ways your character might change by the end of the campaign? For example, playing a dark character that develops guilt and seeks to make amends (redemption plot), playing a young innocent excited for adventure that could end up disillusioned (maturation plot), or a character numbed by loss that learns to trust friendship again (resurrection plot)
He might grow to learn what actual heroism is like, and how it doesn't necessarily only involve directly fighting bad guys and protecting the innocent. He could also become less naive, and learn when ponies are just trying to take advantage of him.

15) Why do you, as a player, want to play in this campaign? What are your favorite parts of roleplaying?
Because the idea of combining mlp with power rangers ( which I'm most familiar with) sounds fun, really cool, and oddly appropriate. I guess my favorite part of roleplaying would be trying to balance what I want to do, and what my character wants.
