"I think she's putting on some sort of dungeon theater act. Or going insane. I'm not entirely sure but....either way this is too funny. Don't fret big guy, I'll step in when something inevitably goes wrong." Skitter interjects.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Hey Zarhon, can I pop a words of friendship for this roll? +5 or something on top of my diplomacy bonus plz. I don't plan using it often, but this is quite the tense situation, i'n'it?. For more of an idea of what I hope to accomplish, either befriending the mob, or singing it to sleep would be nice. And I'll let you guys fight the next thing, ok?

Oh, out of character I'm totally fine with neat alternate solutions to problems. But, in character it's hard to justify not finding this an incredibly strange approach to the issue.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
It's okay, she understands. It's hard not to be bewildered by the amazing, show-stopping ability of the Great and Powerful Jeraylia! Also, I've decided on two possible songs, "What is this box, filled with so many wonders?" and "You've got to share, your treasure lair." The first for a win, the second for a fail.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Jeraylia
8 + 8 + 5 = 21
Humming a cheerful tune, Jeraylia sings to the chest. The tune pacifies its apparent violent urges and it calms down somewhat, no longer being as "grabby" as it was a moment ago (indeed, it swiftly retracts on of its arms, which was slowly extending in Skitter's direction). It faces her, curious as to what she intends to do next, lid slightly open, its arms waggling and gesturing randomly, like that of a child with nothing else to do with them.
Zthulan
As Jeraylia is... befriending... the chest, Zthulan's spirit beast returns. It is unharmed and motions an "all clear" to you.

With a smile and a brief stroke under the chin he gives his thanks for Koras. "The way is clear, we can continue whenever we desire to."

"Hooray. The ghost says we can go now, so let's go." Horizon walks into the tunnel, not bothering to go after the torch again.

"If you take point than I would suggest my "ghost" should accompany you." Recieving a nod from Zthulan, Koras flies ahead and keeps a close distance to the ranger.

"Are you gonna keep playing with that thing forever? Either find it a leash and a muzzle or say goodbye. We should get moving." Skitter said to Jeraylia.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Rolf moves his hand away from the fire wand and puts it back to his side, relaxed. "Skitter might have a point, Jeraylia. While you seem to have...befriended it, it's still a wild animal. If you want to bring it along, fine, but you are responsible for it. Still, at least we didn't have to fight it. Thank you for that."
"And good thinking sending your familiar to scout, Zthulan. We might be able to use that trick again in these tunnels." As he got closer to Zthulan, Rolf said in a lower voice, "Horizon's just yanking your chain. My advice is to just play along and don't be afraid to insult him back." He then started walking toward the rock tunnel.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Alright, time to finish up here. Using my previous roll's result.
Jeraylia looks up in surprise at Skitter's comment, as well as Rolf's, having largely forgotten the world around her. She sighs wistfully, and, having finished displaying a magic trick, puts a deck of cards back down her shirt. She looks at the eager mimic, and a small smile comes to her eyes. Soon after, she started a sweet melody.
"What is this box, filled with so many wonders?
Enchanted with spells, of which
I am now under.
High filligree
of a cute, brown mahogany,
carved from a tree
with the sweet scent of honey.
Honey~
Oh, what a magical box,
how I wish that I could
fill it with socks.
When I see how much encumberance it heaves,
I'd love to hold it so it never leaves,
Oh, I. love. All. Mi~mics~."
She gazes fondly down at the mimic sleeping soundly against her. Using a bit of wine, she dissolved the bonding agent that had started to bind her to the creature, and quietly moved to rejoin the party, holding a conspiring finger to her lips. "What's ahead is far to dangerous for a cute little mimic. Let's not wake it, else, it might follow us."
Oh, yea, she also salvaged the flask of wine she was given. Alcohol is good for unsticking people from mimics. I think I've had enough of the spotlight for now.

It's a good thing Horizon is now off alone in a dark tunnel with only his thoughts. That song might have been damaging to his psyche.

Alt text (she wouldn't really care):
"Wait. You're getting paid?"
Also, do you guys have diabetes now? Also Also, I suddenly had the awesome images of a Super Metroid end happening. Sans the whole city blowing up. That would kind of defeat the purpose.

You got a ghost dragon by your side, so put that into account as well.

Yeah but I can't see the ghost dragon. Far as he knows he's alone. Which, you know, goes so well for him every other time he does it.

I'm pretty sure people can seem shaman spirit companions. Though, I guess that might only pertain to the 4th ed type. Still, I could see Horizon just failing to see it with only torch light.

No your right Koras is visible, I just thought no one cared to notice her and stuff. Giving the fact that it is known that shaman deal with spirits and the like.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Oh, I figured she was invisible because you didn't bother to introduce her (I don't think), and you did that thing a while back where she floated in front of someone and looked into their eyes, and they had no reaction.
So maybe Horizon can't see ghosts? OOOOoooooOOOooooooh (or more likely he's just going to ignore that its there for the most part).

I thought I introduced her, sorry if I didn't . Also I just thought Lynt ignored what Koras did or didn't read it. No matter. But yeah she is as visible as you or me, just a little see through.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
The party proceeds into the rocky tunnel, leaving the mimic to its own devices.
This tunnel is notably shorter than the others and has no extra side passages or dead ends. Soil appears to litter its entirety. Ringing is heard behind and in front of you you as you pass through it. It leads into a cavern-like room, the walls that of a natural cave. This room looks similar to top of the cavern Skitter crawled into (the one he had a unpleasant fall from), but obviously different: There is a pit in this room, taking up roughly half of the room and emitting faint light. The soil appears to lead into the pit. There is another tunnel in this room on its right, also with a soil trail leading into the pit. Next to the pit is a miniature signpost, with a big "X" marked on it. Next to the pit, as well, is a miner's helmet, pickaxe, and a rope, tied to a rock and leading down into the pit.
Mimic
The mimic opens its lid slightly after a few seconds of silence, turning around to "inspect" the room. It "breathes" a sigh of relief and wipes off some of the wine that was spilled on its lid, much like a human would wipe the sweat off its brow, after it confirms that the insane lady is no longer touching it, singing disturbing tunes and generally raising red flags related to its survival and fear instincts.

...Yeah, I must have missed it, since I don't even know what you're referring to. Oh well, we all know he's visible now.

Did anyone else think of this character when they read that?
Rolf was curious about how the pit was emitting its own light. He carefully made his way to the edge of the pit and looked down. "Given that the miner's abandoned camp is right outside, it might be possible that they went down this pit and never came back."
Roll for Perception.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Ah, I guess it rolled high enough on it's perception. Or it heard about Jeraylia. She's well known in the circle of mimics. They call her, "Sulhaya." It's synonymous with fear.
...
Particularly fear of embarrasment.
"That was an ominous statement," Jeraylia said as the wizard moved closer. The bard made sure to stay within hands reach of him, just in case. The eerie light was giving her a bad feeling. She held up her own light source, as if to drive it back. "You know..." she started as Rolf leant over the excavation to look inside, "This pit is exactly the right shape for a..."
Religion check. Could this the burial grounds of a certain old feller? Does Jeraylia sense the immediate, if diminished, presence of a lich/undead. Or perhaps just the remnants. Maybe a difference or growing feeling as she moved into the room. I'm just kind of guessing here, but I could be wrong/jumping the gun. What shape is the pit? Is it, say, considerably coffin-shaped? If I'm right off the mark for the shape of the hole, change it to a nature check, maybe it's a nest. I dunno.

Re: Zilean's Revenge
Rolf
Perception -> 7
Looking down into the pit, Rolf can see that it's pretty deep, certainly enough to make a fall fatal. On its bottom appear to be two big piles of dirt (both covering the majority of the cave floor), collected into pyramid-like piles, its tips positioned below the edges of the pit. The light appears to be coming from luminescent mushrooms that grow on the walls and the bottom of the pit, along with other similar flora. The rope extends all the way to the bottom.
Jeraylia
Religion -> 9
Nature -> 12
Jeraylia feels no undead/lich presence here, not even remnants, nor does she feel anything odd about the room. The pit looks like a typical cave/cavern hole, most likely formed from various geological processes over many years. It is large and has an amorphous shape (something like this).

Re: Zilean's Revenge
"A swimming pool?" Jeraylia finished lamely. She shrugged her hands and put on a stubborn face. "Maybe we're dealing with dwarven miners. Underground pools are all the rage with them these days. Though, I guess it is a bit large."
