The Sun Sets

Storm picks up the pieces of the broken staff and places them in his saddlebag. "Its useless now, but it looks like this might be red oak wood, and might be potentially very useful later."

Storm takes a look at the necklace, dagger, coinpurse and comb.

Silver Bells sighs and makes her way to her room. Sleeping? After the explosion that knocked me out? Really?

"You went to sleep, I went to sleep." The cat is laying in its bed, watching expectantly as Bells walks in. "So is it time to eat?"

Bells sighs again and goes to feed Snuggles.

Back in the tower:
Storm can speculate on the different objects, but doesn't know much of them. The Coin Purse, as it turns out, is not holding coins, but a number of small pill shaped objects. It is doubtful they are medicine. He may have read about something similar, but its been a while.

"WINDOW!" Everyone jumps as Koli suddenly screams the word, jerking back into consciousness. She spins in mid air briefly, before landing on the floor, trying to regain her composure. "The Window, he's there! We have to go open it!"

After Snuggles finishes eating, she puts him on her back. I know you love exploring, and I know you've never been in the tower before, so how do you feel about going there with me? I've just been in there, Bells taunts, teasing the sleepy cat, and I think I saw some rat tails peeking around a couple corners... She starts making her way back to the tower.

Bells:
"Wake me up when we get there." The cat jumps up on Bells' back, and snuggles into her voluminous fur.

Silver Bells doesn't wake up Snuggles until she gets back into the room with the others. "So, what has happened in my absence?"

While everyone is distracted with Koli, Dodger quickly pockets the gems.

"Excellent," said Dodger. "Now then, I believe opening the chests can open the window. I know the order to open them in now, but I might need a mirror."

"We have a mirror." Storm removes the mirror with the etched message on the back from his saddlebags. He turns to Silver Bells.  "By the way, does this mirror seem familiar at all?  I saw the message on the back, but have the faintest idea what it means.  It was found on the first floor of this house."

OOC:I'm referring to this mirror we found earlier on the first floor. Silver may be to make a streetwise check to know if it has any significance.

Koli ignores the one's she hasn't met before, answering the others. "Yes, that, the Void Window. I was there, with Kanen, in the Void. The Mannequin was there, too. It was like a bad dream limbo purgatory place, and Kanen is stuck there, and we can get him out through the window! Let's go!" She flits about frantically as she gives her brief explanation. This grabs the attention of Bells' cat, who eyes it hungrily, slowly arching into position to pounce.

Bells Knows of the mirror, she's seen it before on the hall table. Etching the back of it sounds like something Figure Head may have done, if it was relevant to one of his projects. If it relates to the chests, or the Window, then how it relates would probably be clearer once all the chests are open.

"It might not be a very good idea to go through that window thing until we fully understand how it relates to everything else going on with Figure Head. Knowing him, everything in this house is all part of the same puzzle." Bells looks at Snuggles, then at Koli. "I think you may want to watch out for my cat here. He may have just eaten, but he loves to hunt. In fact, his favorite toy looks very much like you..."

"Well, there's no time to waste, is there?" asked Dodger, hurrying down to the chest room.

Once down in the room, he gets to work opening the chests in the order Figure Head said conveniently quoted/italicized below, skipping over any chests that were already opened.

I figured I'd just get this done quickly since obviously the action's leading up to it and I didn't want to waste time/posts waiting for everyone to go down into the room before opening the chests.

"I guess thats it." Storm heads back down to the chest room.

Dodger:
You are confident enough in what you heard before to correctly choose which chest the first key slots in, and from there open the rest of the chests without issue. Each chest in succession contains the same thing- a key to the next chest, and a single word note. All told, you have 12 notes, and keeping them in the order the chests were meant to be open, they say:

Meanwhile, Koli has flown back into the dining room, and has dedicated her efforts to trying to fly through the empty picture frame on the wall. "Open!"

You now have all the clues necessary to opening the Void Window...

"Got it! said Dodger, arranging the notes. "Follow where you have already been to see where you should be... And Figure Head mentioned the use of a mirror..."

Dodger then hears Koli in the dining room and follows her, observing her flying at the empty frame.

"Hmm... I believe the frame and the mirror may be related," mused Dodger.

"Well, maybe we should try putting the mirror in the frame and walking backward with it back to the tower to see where we are going? Unless you have clues that I do not know about..." Bells says, trailing off in thought.

Bells blinks and looks closely at the mirror, then the frame. "Wait a second... I do not think the mirror will fit in the frame easily, judging by shape and size."
