Cloud just stares at the dragonling with half-lidded eyes and continues slowly working through the slice of bread, not telling him that she's not excited for her first time.

Dart starts to get a little depressed, but brightens as he thinks of something. "Hey! Why don't we form a group? The first ones through get 20 arrowheads, and if we find an embarassing memory of Featherbow, we get 100!"

Marsh flinched a little when the arrowhead challenge was mentioned. "I don't think finding ways to embarrass someone is a good idea..."

"I'm guessing Featherbow is okay with it, otherwise he wouldn't leave an embarassing memory lying around."

He thought the whole thing was a game. Marsh was becoming less and less enthused about working with a team. "You can't exactly stick memories in a nice little box and hide them away."

Dart blinked. Was this filly crazy? "Of course you can! My honorable senseis have taught me that you can stick memories into a little box. If an experienced psychic doesn't want you know something, than you probably won't know it. Besides, it probably something tame like Featherbow wearing a funny costume."

OOC:Assuming Elacular is going with the "mental baggage" method from Psychonauts. When exploring a mind, you find a box, usually luggage, with memories inside, but you can't unlock it unless you find the luggage key.

Dart was visibly relieved. "I think we could show the memory to Featherbow and nopony else. That way we get credit for it, and won't embarrass Featherbow anymore."

"No, no. They want us to practice our psychic abilities, so they hold up an embarrassing memory and extra arrowheads as a prize for finding it. The memory is probably going to be tame, because no pony in their right mind would leave an real embarrassing memory lying around. Also, didn't you hear the psychic broadcast earlier? They mentioned an extra 100 arrowheads for finding it."

As the eating slowly wound down, Featherbow stepped back onto the podium and spoke. "Alright campers! The time has come for your first mind hop! It might be a little scary at first, but it should be lots of fun for everypony."

Featherbow motioned for everyone to gather around the stage and placed his Psychoportal against his forehead, opening the tiny door and closing his eyes. The older students groaned and moved over to him while the younger came in a bit more worriedly.

"You didn't know about the arrowhead challenge Cloud? That's odd." As Marsh stared at the Psychoportal, she was going to suggest Dart go first since he seemed to know more about this stuff. However, she felt his decision to treat this as a game might be a sign she should go first. Walking forward, she carefully braced herself for the unknown.

Dart shrugged, got up, moved and entered a seiza position. He'd heard that entering and exiting a mind could be disorienting, and he didn't want to fall over on his first try.

Cloud walks with Marsh over to where everyone else was gathering. "I heard the mind announcement one of the counselors made about getting through first. Don't you think 'find an embarrassing memory' sounds like a prank one of the other counselors or campers would try? Maybe whoever threw that thing at him?"

Marsh whispered to Cloud, "It might be a prank but if it is, that's just as scary. It sounded just like the counselor and came right after they mentioned what we'd get for making it through,"

As everyone calms their minds, allowing the pull to take them in, they feel like they're falling for a minute and see nothing but green and yellow swirls. After a moment, their hooves are on solid ground again and some of the older students groan. Looking around, everypony seems to be in some absurd, pastel playland that looks like something a two year old would love. There are giant blocks and motivational posters with kittens everywhere, and the ground is a soft felt carpet with a drawing of a city on it. Nearby, there's what looks like a toy train, except it's large enough to carry a bunch of ponies. It's also moving, though at an excruciatingly slow plod. There's a closed circuit TV above you with Featherbow's face on it, grinning widely. "Hiyya foalios! Welcome to Featherbow's funland! The place where we have all the fun in the world! Yay! Now don't worry, getting through here is super easy. But if you don't think you can make it, hop on the happy train and it'll do all the work for you, nice and safe. Hooray!"

For the first time in his entire Psychoneight career, he could not believe what he was seeing. He couldn't even help showing it a little.

"Sweet Celestia," He whispered to himself. "It all makes sense now." He found himself in full agreement with Magimind's unspoken opinion, and resolved to poke around on Loften's mindscape to find out what had went down here. For now though, he simply tried to resist the growing urge to set something on fire as he continued looking around, always wary and aware of his surroundings and the activities of the campers.

Cloud flaps her wings to fly up and above the fairgrounds a small ways, to get a general look at the fairgrounds, where the exit is, and if she can just get there as the pegasus flies.

Dart did a sharp intake of breath. Everything looked so bright and colorful, it almost hurt his eyes, or what ever passed for eyes in this mental landscape. As this was first time in a mental landscape, he wanted to say something cool, something profound. What actually came out was. "Bwuh?"

The bright display of colors were dizzying and wonderful to Marshom Aloe. It seemed a little kiddy but she preferred that over the unspoken tension back in the cafeteria or some sort of nightmare landscape. She was enjoying the sights so much that she wasn't actually paying much attention to her surroundings.
