As you round the corner, the door to the lab swings open, and Quick Fix walks into the hall. Spotting you, he calls out, "Ah, there you are, Doctor. I was wondering where you might be hiding. I trust Juniper has been accommodating to your requests and shown you what you need to see? I should hope so, she was unavailable to answer the door just a few minutes ago... your friends needed some directions to my Patients' house." He looks past you, as if expecting to see someone else. When no one else appears,, he looks back at you. "Doctor... would you mind directing me to where miss Juniper is now? I instructed her to remain with you for now."

Sunburst yelps in pain at the blow to her gut, tears forming in her eyes. She reflexively gives a thrash against the restraints. She looks at Juniper.

"Why?..." She sobs, "Why are you doing this..."

Juniper remains coolly neutral. You notice her tapping her prosthetic hoof in some kind of agitation, but otherwise doesn't seem to be outwardly emotive, nor does she say anything. However, you can somehow sense that she's not at ease. Her eyes are dull, but she gives off a feeling of anger, and fear. It's like she's afraid of you, and she wants to keep you from doing... something. When you plead with her, though, you can tell she feels uneasy about your question. You notice her hoof slowly dropping back to the floor- it looks like she was planning to hit you again.

"Yes. She was most helpful. Though...I can't quite place it, but she seems very familiar for some reason, but I can't quite place it."

"No. No. That can't be it. I'm sure it was in some other context. And it seems like it was from a few years back." Storm taps his with hoof as if deep in thought, and oblivious to Dr. Quick-Fix's other question.

Quick Fix frowns at your stalling. "Well I'm sure that's just one of those things you'll recall when you're in the shower in a few days. If you'll excuse me, I really must find Juniper. Are you certain you don't know where she is?"

Storm frowns a bit then sighs. "Is Juniper actually Juniper Leaves the former head ~~Medical Mechanica~~ Magical Medical? I didn't realize it first, but everything matches up too perfectly for it to be a coincidence."

She is my assistant, and I need her assistance. So if you don't know where she is," He pushes his way past you, "I'm going to have to ask you to either return to your work, or return to your room. There are still sensitive matters in action right now, I'd much prefer you don't go bumbling around and disturbing them."

Upon reentering the lab, you find the lights are now on, and your equipment is where you left it.

Sunburst:
Juniper cocks her head. She definitely seems sympathetic, if not hazily remorseful. She reaches somewhere behind your head, and lets the chain around your neck relax a bit- but doesn't remove it. She places her good hoof on your shoulder, and then lays her head on your chest... almost as if she's trying to comfort you. Then she straightens up and turns around, heading for the door- but not before it swings open. "Ah, there you are, Juniper." You can see Doctor Quick Fix, and can hear his voice, remembering the last time you heard it.... "Miss Juniper I asked you not to leave Dr. Storm Eye unescorted." He looks down at you, bound as you are. "Is she being difficult? Just sedate her again. I need her as docile as possible if the treatments are to proceed as planned." Juniper shakes her head, then stands aside. "No? Then go see to Dr. Storm. I need to assess the patient." Juniper nods, and retreats from the room. "So..." Quick Fix turns to look at you, eyes full of contempt. "Trying to make things worse on yourself? You know I won't stand for ungrateful misbehavior in my home."

Quick Fix is not happy. Irritated. And slightly gleeful. Malicious to be sure, and this becomes apparent when he speaks. "I need you to help me with a few things. Now don't worry, no Pony Centipede Mad scientist experiments, but there are some things I'd like to test and you just so happen to be available."

She shut her eyes tight as a talk she had with her parents flashed through her head.
"Hurting ponies who didn't do anything is wrong. Even if you think it can help others. If you just hurt ponies just because it may help another, your just going to hurt everypony, if a pony's going to hurt somepony or volunteers its one thing but just choosing to destroy somepony... That hurts everypony, it'll destroy everypony be-because cause everpony's made up of someponies and-and when its ok to just hurt somepony you'll hurt enough someponies that you hurt more ponies that you've helped. And... and that will destroy them... and destroy you and-and-and- And please... I just want to go home..."

Quick Fix looks at you, struggling, pleading, and at once his malicious edge disappears. He softens, frowning. "....I know. You're right, it should be my goal to help everypony. I became a doctor to make money, and that's wrong, and I've been keeping you here to reach the same ends, which is worse. But these experiments, they're so tempting, so lucrative... and no one would volunteer for them." He reaches behind you and undoes the chain, pulling it free from your neck. "But it's dangerous outside right now. You won't be leaving, not yet. And...there are some things I've already done, some things that I need to monitor you for. It's dangerous to let you leave now. You understand?"

"I have spoken with the Lieutenant. She has agreed to let Storm and Cobalt into the zone so long as I find a safe and working facility within."
