She pulls back a little to give you an odd look. "That doesn't make sense. A strong dragon - or pony - guards their possessions. Why would you guard him?"

"That's... just... what I do?" answers Scorch, somewhat confused with this line of questioning. "I haven't really thought about it. I just know that I'm stronger than him, or any of the ponies I've helped, and they are like family to me. That's why I protect them."

Violet turns her head as she considers this. "Like family? Your family, you might say? I think I see. Come to think of, I suppose I would guard Mother if needed. It just never was," she says quietly. She looks back up towards you. "Your turn."

Scorch ponders for a moment. "So, you own The Willow, right? Tell me about that."

"Mother decided I needed something that was Mine," she says as she contemplates the shine on her claws "She gave me a hundred bits and told me to grow it. The Willow is the result of that. Right now, the profits go into the Willow or into the hoard, but eventually Mother says I'll be able to start my own hoard this way."

"You don't have your own hoard? Well, mind you, your mother's hoard is huge. If Wandering had that sort of riches I'd just spend my whole day on it." Scorch smirks at the thought. "Your turn."

"I would too, but Mother doesn't let me often. She says I am a part of that hoard, and therefore am not ready for my own yet," Violet explains, closing her eyes wistfully as she considers the next question. "But if not a hoard, then what does Wandering have? Few can say they have even seen a dragon's egg, much less raised one. And that crown. How did that not come from his hoard!?"

"Wandering didn't raise me," comments Scorch, as he leans his head back a bit to figure out how to word the explaination, "I was given to him by... the friend of a grandfather of a friend of his. Mind you, that pony didn't raise me either. I was given to him by his uncle. Or was it uncle-in-law?" Scorch changes to the other question. "As for the crown, erm, that was sort of a gift from a... friend of sorts."

"Poor thing! Changing hooves so many times," Violet says sadly, wrapping an arm behind you to squeeze a little. "But how do you have a 'sort of' friend? They're either a friend or they're not."

"Ooh," mumbles Scorch as Violet sorta hugs him. "Well, it's sorta complicated. It's like a business relationship."

"Yeah, he's a showoff alright." Scorch muses some ideas in his head. "So, what are your hobbies? I'm know about your piano skills," a inquisitive smile shows on Scorch's face, "And I think your mother said something about diving off cliffs?"

"Mother taught me to play when I was younger. Now, it lets me contribute to the Willow and keep an eye on things without simply looming," she explains, returning her gaze to the town. "As for the cliffs... Well, there's a series of cliffs running down the river that offer some lovely spots to dive and swim. I could just show you, though..." she suggests, running her claw down your jaw again.

"As much as I would love to watch, I would love to be able to borrow you again a whole lot more," answers Scorch...

"Aaaw," she says, making a mock pout face. "I suppose you're right, though..."

Steam Twins, Bubbling Spring

"In that case - "

He is interrupted by the glass-less Neon Green catching fire, collapsing in on itself with a loud BANG that breaks the table and stir the crowd just beyond the door with a collective gasp.

Discord blinks in surprise after a moment. "- in that case, I'll just be going. I don't think there's anything worth worrying about," he says quickly, snapping his fingers as he vanishes.

Glowing Lantern enters shortly after as the crowd begins to murmer. "Oh my gosh! What happened!?"

"Ah, cheer up, maybe one day." Scorch places an arm around Violet and gives a quick consolation hug. "Your turn."

Bubbling Spring blinks with about as much surprise as Discord. Somewhere deep down, he'd known that was going to happen. Not that that had stopped him.

Well. Can't say he's done something THAT stupid in quite some time. Ah, well. "I set the remains of some neon green on fire. Stupid decision, I know." He says apologetically, flicking an ear to try and not some soot out of his eyebrow without smudging it. "The crown can cover the cost of the table, right?"

Violet's claw continues to explore beneath your jaw. "That little black pony... He's not actually the one you assist, is he..."

Steam Twins, Bubbling Spring

The server's eye begins to twitch a little. "... Yes. But I'm going to have to ask you to leave now. All of you," she says tersely, pointing towards the main door.

Neither twin is paying attention when the glass explodes, and both shriek in unison, diving under the table for cover. Only Soft pokes her head back out, blushing furiously as they are asked to leave.

"Sure thing." Spring says placidly. "Sorry for making your night a little worse. At least my friend left without ordering anything." With a little help from his horn he maneuvers Wandering onto his back and slowly makes his way out of the restaurant, leaving the crown on the table. He trusts that Soft can get Water out without breaking anything.

Soft gets Water out without breaking anything, and they leave the restaurant in an uncomfortable silence.

"Well, sorry about that." Spring says once they're outside. "It happens occasinally. Where the devil did Scorch and that lady dragon disappear to?"

"Wherever it is, I'm sure running out with some lady dragon wasn't part of the promise he made to Wandering." "Yeahh, if he was gonna leave early he coulda just not come... but then wouldn't have seen the girl dragon so he wouldn't have to leave... right?"

Scorch chuckles nervously. "Why do you say that?"
