Adventures in Saint-Trotez - On Set (Episodes 3 - 6)

"No talk!" the kobold barks back to Snipe's babbling. "No pony allowed. Pony leave now."

Aces figures he'd better let somepony who's good at that kind of thing do the talking, but whispers a soft "Thanks," to the colt who saved him.

Undergrowth sits up from where he was placed, somewhat in a daze. "They right, no pony in cave. Undergrowth forgot."

"Pony leave gems at cave." The kobold then looks at Undergrowth. "Why Undergrowth with ponies?"

"Pony say big meanie pony not give gems. Want burn forest. Pony not want burn forest. Undergrowth not sure pony path trap, but pony was help with sickness. Has leader's neckpiece." He gestures to Necrar.

"Dragon protect us from all pony," replies the kobold as he moves to inspect Necrar's trinket...

"I remember pony," comments one kobold, loosening the draw on his bow, "He make head burn go bye." Some of the others nod in agreement and make similar whispered mumbles...

"Okay, pony can meet leader, but not dragon. Dragon say no pony in cave. Dragon stop give kobolds sheep if finds pony in cave." With that, the kobold begins to make his way down the sloop, the others beginning to follow...

"See? A little courtesy goes a long way." Necrar follows the kobolds down the cave.

Snipe semi mechanically follows Necrar, mumbling over and over, nothing really coherent.

As you follow the pack of kobolds, those who have been here before, although not recently, notice that there is now an incredibly large tunnel that runs through the entire place, where before is mostly consisted of small winding tunnels. As you move down, other kobolds do notice you, but the pack leading you tells them that things are under control. They also warn you about any kobolds wearing red robes, as those are kobolds that the dragon brought with him, so they won't care what the leader will say. Eventually, you arrive at an entrance with fancy curtains covering it, with the kobolds taking position next to it. "Only Healer Pony see Leader. Other pony stay."

"Sounds fine to me," said the gambler, leaning against a nearby wall.

"Snipe, if you could." Necrar nods to the colt, then the others, and walks through the curtains.

Snipe's eyes widen in panic and he looks around at the party, gulping. He shakes a bit as he opens his link between the party and Necrar, but keeps his messages out.

Undergrowth follows Necrar through the curtains, adopting a slightly more bowed stature.

Necrar and Undergrowth enters the room (if you could call it that) through the curtains. The room is draped with many colourful decorations, such as various types of rugs, banners, furnishings, and what have you. Inside, you see the Kobold Leader dressed in very decorative clothes and jewellery sitting at a grand (but kobold-sized) chair making something, but she turns her head to check who has just entered. "Pony has returned," the Leader announces to herself, "Did no kobold say no pony no allowed in caves no more?"

Undergrowth looks down shamefully. "Kobold say no pony no allowed in caves." He looks up slightly, still not meeting the leader's eyes. "But pony bring path of pony gems. Say big meanie pony leader not bring gems for dragon, big meanie pony leader want burn forest...undergrowth fear path and brought Leader pony."

Sparks leans against a wall dips his head and pretends to sleep. Did you not hear the whole bigotry stuff coming from Highland's mouth. Someone ,Highland, might act on that whole feeling of superiority and decide to wipe them out.

"While I would enjoy it, I am not in such a position of power. Merely an ambassador to talk for the ponies. As Undergrowth here has said, there is a pony who wishes to burn down the forest and kill the dragon rather than give the gems over. This pony has much power over others as well, and could very well follow through with his threat. We wish to avoid this." Necrar relays this, as well as all the Kobold Leader is saying.

"Dragon will protect us from pony." The Leader replies as she returns to her work. "Dragon is big and mighty. Dragon can beat pony. Pony should not worry, learn to love Dragon. Maybe Dragon protect ponies too."

Meanwhile, outside the entrance, Aces tapped his front-real hoof on the ground. "So," he drawled, "How's everypony been doing?"

Snipe huddled into himself, covering his face with his wings "I don't know!" The colt shakes a little bit, barely able to hold back from bursting into a series of sobs.
