Grand Line Adventures IC - Part 2

"I mite' be going about dis' da' wrong way. Let's see if I can dispel dem' safety fields.", Shallow goes, beginning to chant his Voodoo, and readying himself to smash the 'final link' of this chain puzzle.

Arcana / Athletics:

"Let me see if I can help with that." Torque tried to use his magical knowledge (limited as it might be) to help boost Shallow's spell.

Arcana Assist:

"Oh please," said Sixty-Two, smiling as his book appeared from the same nowhere that the iron cube came from. "THIS is how you do magic! Cracking Soldier!"

"Three!" Carat adds what she can to the magical pot, since she's really currently not doing anything aside from getting comfy in 62's mane.

The cube locks into place inside the mechanism it shouldn't move anywhere for quite sometime. The weights prove to be of slight obstruction with only the last one giving Tortoise any difficulty just barely being light enough to be lifted to a work able height.

The magic spell holds firm against the initial voodoo chant but as more and more is added on top of it the spell finally cracks and fades away into nothingness. The cold hard metal however hold firm against Shallow's strike not even being affected in the slightest and jarring him slightly.

"Freee-oof! Hm, I kind of expected dat' to work. Shall we kick togetha, use a bomb, or roll in dat' cannon da' Marines so generously provided dis' time?"  

"Oh why not both? Already got us a bomb built..." Boomer replies going to prep the cannon and bomb to be fired asap.

Mechanics Check:

Seeing Boomer preparing a good deal of explosives, Torque says, "If it's all the same to you, I'd prefer to watch from a safe distance," before trying to find something to hide behind.

"Good idea!", Shallow agrees, moving away to put at least two solid walls between himself and the cannon-detonation. And making sure he's not facing the front or back end of the cannon. And covering his ears and ducking for good measure.

Sixty-Two opens his mouth, then shuts it and shakes his head. "Nope. Not worth it."

This being said, he joins Shallow in his hiding spot. "Hello, stranger. What brings you here?"

Tortoise grinned excitedly, looking forward to the impending explosion-propelled explosion!

That is, until he saw everypony else ducking for cover.

"Alrigh', alrigh'... I suppos' Ah'll be sensible."

And he followed suit, preparing to find something to hide behind himself, shrinking to tortoise form and withdrawing into his shell (still peeking out juuuust a little though- no way was he missing this completely!

"Really, you think I wouldn't build a bomb and a canon to fire it off of, without a plan to have the firing location be a save-zone?" Boomer mutters to herself putting her full faith into her mechanical skills she did into the canon/bomb modifications and upgrades she did at the last second to keep her safe as she fires the extremely dangerous weapon.

Carat buries herself deep in 62's mane, preparing for the explosion (and getting more comfortable).

As the cannon fires the room is filled with thick white smoke. The shock from the blast comes a moment later shaking everyone down to their bones. As the smoke clears it becomes clear that almost all of the machinery is little more than scrap at this point however in the direct line of fire there is nothing but a deformed heap of still white hot slag protruding a good distance through the outer wall of the base a good fifty feet way from the original blasting zone.

Carat buries her head into 62's mane, using it to breath through because of the smoke.

Torque carefully poked his head out from where he had hidden. "Well, that was...exciting, to say the least. I think it's safe to say that the chain mechanism has been disabled for a very, VERY long time." Torque took a glance around the room at the mangled machinery that remained before making his way to the hole to see where they were relative to the ship. "If we're very lucky, we might have made an exit we can wheel those cannons out of."

Perception:

"Impressive blast, Boomer! Mite' want to consider reducin' da' smoke a bit for next time, tho'. We may need to cool da' slag first, before we go skipping out of dat' hole, Torque.", Shallow comments, chanting a Voodoo ritual to cleanse the room of heat and smoke.

Weather-Crafter:

Boomer was a little amazed that such a huge blast... Still didn't really hurt her at all outside of getting her dirty and this fact made her start laughing, madly, as she comments to herself about what she just saw. "Knew I made it a safe-zone... But didn't think it'd be that amazing of a boom either... Felt like I was at point blank.... Yet NO HARM DONE! HAHAHAHA!"

The localized weather conditions manage to cool down the slag and clear away most of the smoke.

Perception:

The vast majority of former machinery would quite simply put would only ever be usable again after it was melted down and reforged but nevertheless there is a significant amount of metal available.
Looking out Torque can see the crew's ship just about 100 feet away from the hole in the wall.

"Well," Carat says, clearing her throat and raising her voice to be heard, "I KNOW THAT WHEN I'M SMALL - ABOUT THE SIZE OF A FILLY, OR SMALLER - I CAN LIFT MYSELF WITH MY TELEKINESIS, THOUGH ONE OF YOU WOULD HAVE TO GIVE ME A QUICK RUN-THROUGH OF HOW TO STEER THE SHIP!" As example, she wraps herself in her telekinetic pale blue glow, and lifts herself from 62's mane and in circles around his head, partially just for fun, then hops back in.

Roll:

"You guys have no idea how weird this feels," Sixty-Two said, bringing up nothing of particular note.

"Well, first lets see if we can ease da' boat closer. Put on a coat, it about to be windy!", Shallow warns, before chanting.

Weather-Crafter:

While Shallow chants, Carat sighs and picks herself up again, but asks for basic instructions on how to steer the ship before setting off for it.
