"Brace yourselves, a big attack is coming." Sky Wolf said, knowing that the whistling was a sign of a backlash. Quickly smothering the lingering flames with his hat, Sky Wolf used his magic once more, putting the cloak around his allies once more. Doing his best to defend his allies, even at the cost of his own expense. That is what the pegasus did.

It took Diamond Dust a few second to realize he was on fire, and once he did it took him a few more seconds of running around to put it out. By that point the pegasus had yelled about bracing himself, so he didn't have much time to do anything but follow his example.

While Ancient Record got himself patched up, the officer's eyes nervously darted back and forth upon hearing the Princess' question until he finally relented. "In our investigations into the black market, we came up with a plan to pass off several artifacts to a buyer outside of Equestria. It would get them off the street, keep them out of the kingdom, and make a few bits. Over time, the buyer became more...forceful. What was once just a quick side job became a bigger operation. Some of us were more into keeping things going than others but it felt like we had gone too deep to turn back."

Puzzlemint shakily struggled to stand before then bowing to Terra. "I never knew such corruption was present in my department. While not involved in their actions, I was in charge of this investigation so I take full responsibility for this course of events." In her ear, Terra could hear the voice from earlier. "For what I said earlier, I apologize. These...were not the kinds off problems I dealt with in my time."

Without warning, the whistling noise suddenly shifted to the right. The adjacent building exploded, shooting out burning wreckage in multiple directions with several pieces of flaming debris striking the team and littering the street. The fire on the initial building had an odd waver...almost as if it were in pain.

Terra gives a small sad shake of her head towards the officer before turning to Puzzlemint. "You should only be blaming yourself if you knew about it and could have stopped it. Now I will leave this matter in your hooves I...need to speak with Mr.Record." Terra turns around and points to the necklace secured to her neck. "I need you to tell me everything you can about this little thing."

Silver Night meant for it to be intimidating, he really did! But when he went to strike the flames for harming his comrades, he slipped, and only scored a glancing blow with his horn. Slightly embarrassed about his misstep, he went back to observing the battlefield intently, somehow failing to realize he had yet again caught fire.

Sky Wolf moved from side to side, dodging most of the debris from the building, he could dodge it all however, and his jacket was set on fire. The pegasus ignored the fire first, focusing his magic once more. Giving Silver Night another boost of energy, before trying to get rid of the flames on Diamond Dust, unfortunately this meant he could remove the fires plaguing himself.

Diamond Dust was getting mad. Whatever this thing was, it was clearly very dangerous. Feeling a sudden surge of energy that might just have been his rage, he shook off the flames before they could really hurt him, and slammed the fire with his baton again.

Before he had the chance to survey the battlefield properly, Silver Night felt a new rush of energy, and attempted to draw energy from the fire once more. He was pleased to feel a rush of energy in his horn that more than compensated for the spell. He even felt a little tougher because of it, and started to carry himself more threateningly as he looked about the field.

At first it looked like a simple and unremarkable necklace. Upon careful inspection, a subtle intricacy was discovered. With the minute engravings, it could only be assumed that this belonged to Princess Rosepatch. Ruler at the time of the dark war of history, she passed away shortly after Tirek was defeated.

Puzzlemint briefly clears her throat. "Pardon my intrusion Princess but while it seems a long internal investigation is at hand, I have no clue how to get out of here nor how we're supposed to move all of these unconscious ponies of these artifacts."

The fire did not lash out at the attackers. As a telltale whistle began again, the building was shrouded in a thick cloud of smoke.

Terra thinks to herself for a moment before shaking her head. "We have pressing matters to deal with. Now I came here through a set of ancient tunnels. Now there where two other paths that I passed by there are rather decent odds saying that at least one of them leads to the surface. Ancient Record and I shall attempt to find a way out. However there is a chance that a rescue team has already been sent so you should should stay here and inform them of the situation. We should be able to mark down what path we take in-case searchers arrive before we return or find a way out."

Vision obscured by the dark smoke, Silver Night took a wild guess as to where he could attack next, but stumbled abruptly as his hooves came down on naught but air. On the bright side, his reunion with the ground helped put out the fire that had raged on his person, after he had shaken himself a bit.

"Brace." Sky Wolf said, not bothering to call out this time. His voice was simple and firm as he worked his magic, pulling his protective, magical cloaks over them for a third time. Unoriginal, but it kept them protected. So, why would he not keep doing it? Not to mention it was easy to do, so he managed to quickly beat of the flames on his jacket. Thank goodness that the fire couldn't actually damage it.

Diamond Dust tried to focus. The thing was still in hear somewhere. Swinging around his baton when he didn't know if he would hit the others would probably be a bad idea, so he just tried kicking the thing. Still, he was surprised when he made contact

"I understand, your Highness." Puzzlemint gave a bow before redirecting her attention to the wreckage. Ancient Record followed Terra as she retraced her steps until they came back to the intersection.

As the whistling sound shifted to the left, the other adjacent building erupted in an even more cataclysmic explosion than before. However, this cleared the smoke from the air. The central fire had shrunk considerably and seemed to have little life left.

Blown back by the explosion, Silver Night felt his legs threaten to buckle under him, but the magic in his clothing kept him standing. He saw how weak the fire looked, and moved in to strike, thoughts of righteous vengeance in his head. Shaking his head clear of those thoughts, he looked more closely at the flames, looking for a good opening to attack, and leaping at the first chance he saw, bucking the fire as hard as he could.

Sky Wolf dodged the debris as much as he could, but the battle was tiring him out, and so he failed to dodge all of it. The pegasus winced as he got a cut across his back. Small and shallow, but it still stung. With the derby and fire, all three of them where starting to take quite a beating. Him more than the others due to his efforts in protecting them. With a grimace, Sky Wolf gave himself and Silver another burst of energy, before getting to work on using his magic to restoring his energy, though he was unable to heal the cut. As he did so, the pegasus started to wish he knew how to apply such a healing ability to multiple targets at once, still at least focusing on himself allowed him to quickly snuff out the flames

That last explosion hit Diamond Dust hard. He was beginning to feel the effects of the attacks, and didn't have the energy to put out the fire again. Instead, he tried to focus on conserving his energy for the moment, instead trying to summon some of the energy that would activate his vest again. He wouldn't be able to keep helping if he was unconcious.

Traveling towards the sound of water, the area grew darker and darker. Barely visible was an underground river flowing at a swift pace. It smelled clean and of freshwater. "To leave the officers alone is an interesting decision."

The fire made sputtering noises like a lamp with low quality oil. However, a sound like a slow inhale came from deep within.
