- Even younger Sweetie Belle! Age 5 is now a thing.
- Sweetie Belle sort devolves into Diamond Tiara-level bratty behavior. The worst thing about this is that it's completely realistic. I dislike it, but can't really argue against it.

Highlights
- Predictable plot (not that the recent EW clip which spoiled the entire plot didn't help with that).
- Excellent (if predictable) moral.
- Song isn't very memorable, but is still pretty amusing.
- Flim & Flam get away without karma / being torn apart by a mob of freaks. Oh well!
- Equestria confirmed for many colorful, horrible, disgusting diseases, genetic disorders, and invalids/cripples! The fanfic writers will be all over this episode.
- Cherry Berry and Coco Crusoe now suddenly have genetic disorders now. For some reason.
- All those cartoon injuries seem to have finally caught up with all the Ponyville residents. Not even Carrot Top is safe.
- I'm amazed how this episode managed to get past without any censor hijinks, considering how many sensitive medical disorders are referenced.
- Granny Smith confirmed for silly pony ancestor and aged badflank.
- AJ confirmed for future Scrooge McPony. And she got her rainbow thing. Also predictable (again, the clip had its fingers in it too). Now lets just hope she doesn't accidentally use it as intended (to buy something) and screw everypony over later when it's time to save the world.
- Derpy! Also, Lyra being extremely silly. Many yays.

Highlights
- Three plots for the price of one! Though arguably, the RD/FS one was the 'main' one, and the plots are rather predictable.
- New animal get! Apparently, it's an Orthrus. There's also a short sight of one of the 'spookiest cave in Equestria' monsters in a cage, as well as a bunch of others.
- The chicken-selling guy is apparently a reference to Charles Nelson Reilly.
- Not liking Pinkie's plot-warranted stupidity this episode.
- AJ/Rarity in a generosity-off! Also, really poor trading values. How is a dirty old pot equivalent to two ponies-worth of other goods?
- Apparently, slavery/indentured servitude is perfectly legal / supported by rules in Equestria.
- The 'judge hammer' Twilight uses has the mane six coloring on it.
- Princess-hood apparently is a big deal. Although, it seems that most ponies are unaware of the full story until informed by a certain pink pony.

Totally agree... Sad that Pinkie's actions were the weak link in this episode. Equally feel Equestra seems to lack understanding of good trades.

Due to a genetic mutation, his cutie mark can be found on his face, and he does not, in fact, have a scar. Seriously, Im a pegasus with Black and purple hair, and I have the pony equivalent of a wheel chair, and a slight, difficult to place accent. It looks like it cam fresh off the Pony Creator.

Highlights!
- Spike has denial issues when it comes to Rarity.
- Spike shows us some depth/growth. Both of his stomach and character. His breath is improving, too!
- Spike also shows some high degrees of denial/obliviousness when it comes to anything Rarity-related. He's also uncannily trusting of Rarity.
- Rarity once again shows us the true villains of the series: Ponies and their hidden pits of insanity they conceal.
- Rarity murdered and/or irrevocably transfigured/banished several ponies (the Mariachi band and the clown). She also created best background pony.
- Equestria is littered with artifacts that are apparently cursed with immense power / insanity-causing, but with simple methods of deactivation. Meaning why isn't this thing used for public benefit by carefully monitoring and deactivating it before the insanity kicks in?!
- Rarity's parents make another showing!
- The plot of this episode could very well work with *any* of the Mane Six (maybe not Rainbow Dash). All could potentially have horrible results. There's gonna be so many dark-fics after this episode.

I can imagine Rarity actually being among the more timid of the choices. She has her creativity and fashion-fixation making 'relatively' harmless changes at start, or changes that work off aesthetic (which sort of allows a degree of function). Other's fixations can cause a lot more trouble, potentially.Cardbo wrote:

Fluttershy would be animal oriented - unleashing a literal zoo/jungle/safari into Ponyville and devolving into a Dr. Moreau geneticist, or making things more animal-friendly than it is pony-friendly.
Twilight would be fixated on magic and/or science (books/knowledge) - in other words, Skynet-level technology cock-ups, Megaspells, the usual 'annihilation of the concept of physics via breaking reality', or if focused on books, forcing all entertainment and aspects of life to be 'in a book', or expressed via literature. The most destructive potential by far, though likely the one most 'curbed' at start, given enough discipline and self-control.
Rainbow Dash would either be completely harmless (utter lack of creativity or aspirations for such), or create a dare-devil world where everypony has wings, is genetically altered to be 20% cooler, and racing flying sharks is part of daily routine / survival. Also, everything turning rainbows, and the dorky/egghead stuff being disregarded/altered to fit her ideals (and thus bringing dysfunction).
Applejack would be fixated on apples. Her lack of creativity would result in a world that would be reflected as such - apple trees everywhere, and a devolution of all aspects of society to agriculture. It could also reflect her 'creations' by being shoddy, designed precariously, or being 'simple'. Also, apples everywhere. Nice way to ruin an ecosystem.
Pinkie Pie would just turn the world into an endless party. And would almost certainly be the first to mentally snap when her utter lack of knowledge in non-party fields interferes with the functioning of the world (as we've seen her bumbling during the Weird Al episode - no surgeon would want their OR 'partified') and thus makes everyone miserable, despite parties. She's also pretty much most likely to go haywire with it.

I'm expecting Twilight to be more sensible with Artifacts of Doom, Rainbow Dash not caring since its not a Daring Doo novel, Applejack similarly not caring for because its not Apple or farm related, same Fluttershy as its not animal related, and lastly the same with Pinkie Pie. However Rarity is a unicorn, and fashion designer. She prides herself on creativity being her schtick, so when a spell that she can use comes along and allows her to put the ideas in her head and make them a reality, its really no wonder she fell off the deep-end here even without the magical curse.
Also, anyone want to bet that this isn't the last we see of the spell? I'm betting it'll play a major role in the final three episodes.
- Next three episodes:
Celestia sends Discord to deal with a threat to Equestria. Why would she send Discord? It takes a reality warper to deal with another reality warper. Such as one powered up by this spell.

Honestly, I'm not actually sure. The credits at the end say that Jay Brazeau played a character called Claude, and since I don't know any other character in the episode having speaking lines that could be worth enough to be mentioned at the end with a name, I assume Claude is the puppeteer...Bronymous wrote:

Equestria Games
Highlights:
- Spike gets what is quite easily the crowning awkward/embarrassing moment of awkward/embarrassing moments.
- Spike has performance issues, but gets over them.
- Flame breath upgrade! Kinda.
- What kind of safety standards allows ice archery. In a stadium where anypony is viable to get hit by one stray arrow and freeze/impale them to death.
- Magic-blocking technology for optimal cheat-prevention and handy-alicorn/unicorn-plot-solving-prevention! Surprising it's the only thing they do. No search for hidden contraband or weapons?
- Team Dash gets a 'great, but not best' conclusion to their contest, handled extremely anti-climactically. Same with the rest of the contest. I guess they're kinda trying to boast Olympic ''good sportsmanship'?
- New rulers of nations! Who get very little screen-time.
- Cherry Jubilee is apparently either a very prominent brothel owner, or the owner/mayor of Dodge Junction, considering her spot in the VIP booth.
- Bulk Biceps has a mother! (in the audience, right side of VIP booth).

- Who makes their child wear a pink cowboy hat? Also, looks like the Doctor's visiting as well.
- Rulers! And Cherry Jubilee is apparently part of high society (probably the brothel's). And what appears to be Bulk Biceps mother.
- Ms. Harshwhinny needs to get a stallion to unjam that stick out of her plot.

- So apparently, Spike's actual full/legal name is "Spike the Dragon". Sounds like it could be an issue for bureaucracy.
- Wait why is Derpy on the team suddenly?
- Flags! Seems Dodge Junction is its own competitor. As are the griffons, Cloudsdale, and... Sweet Apple Acres?
- Listen to her man, she hasn't had her angry sex yet today!
- Every man's worst fear: Performance issues.
- I get Twilight being worried, by why does the red-mane pony worry about this?
- Ms. Harshwhinny is Mistress Obvious today.
- Purplesmart to the rescue!
- And then the episode had no plot left to resolve. Roll happy credits.
- Griffons! Now in red, blue, purple and teal!
- And then the games ended.
- Luckily, Scootaloo has Rainbow Dash now to make up for her shroedingers parents.

- Rock concerts are a lot less exciting when they involve actual rocks.
- Silver! The 'almost' of medals.

- Cringing faces aren't enough.

- This stands as an art piece, of quite possibly the most awkward moment ever depicted in a cartoon. The VA put all the stops to make this as awkward as possible.

- Cue elaborate methods of sabotaging their competition to ensure victory.

- That is incredibly elaborate and gimmicky for an actual sport.
- Suddenly, disaster!
- Well, the Doctor ran, so they're about to be horrifically impaled.
- Oh hey, audience that does something! UNLIKE SOME PRINCESSES.
- Dang. It's almost like the field was there to make it impossible for a Deus-Ex Machina to instantly/easily solve the crisis moment with magic.
- As an engineer who studied therodynamics, I can say that's not how it would work. It would just break apart, thus letting it fall faster, thus impaling anyone underneath.
- For so much ice, that's not much rain.
- Spike is pretty indifferent about this.
- "But you saved a hundred people! Everyone will adore you and give you favors and..."
"You saved the entire world. Several times. How are those favors working out for you?"

So far, there have been only two points in this series that I could not bring myself to watch the first time through (although that didn't stop me from listening to the audio as I cringed). The first was the CMC's song in "The Show Stoppers". The second was Spike's song in this episode. Sometimes I'm too empathetic for my own good; when watching situations like this, I'm practically an embarrassment sponge.
Also, as gimmicky as ice arrows are for just sport, it looks like it would be cool (if you'll pardon the pun) for combat purposes. Plus we learn how the heck pony archery works for non-unicorns.
...Was anyone else slightly disappointed that none of those archers even slightly resembled Haley Starshine?
