Once you push Thermal out through the Window, the clicking and screeching stops. Your vision clears just in time to see one of the blurry things changing shape- retracting some metallic, insectoid legs into a ball of black fog. Three large eyes blink into existence on the black mass, and it floats away from you to join the two others, undergoing similar changes. One of them becomes a large, wraithlike hand, while the other splits into a toothless maw. They float around each other, as if connected.

Then, they focus on you again. The eyes seem to spin on their ball, hypnotizing you. The Mouth opens up, and lets out a wail.... sort of. It has almost no volume, but you can feel the vibrations in your chest, and it disorients you slightly. At the same time, the hand hovers over you, and you can feel it do something that weakens you, painfully. It does not seem to hold you in place though.

I guess there's no real reason to continue actually fighting, but its a new design so I figured I'll try it out a bit.

You step out into the real world. Thermal is there, on the cloud, and has apparently fallen asleep. Looking at him, you also feel extremely tired all of a sudden.

"Well, at least I'll have no trouble going to sleep." He took his precious notes from his saddlebags and checked them over to make sure they still made sense in the real world.

In the room just next to Bells' there are at least 5 other beds (that apparently none of the others thought to use). You pick one out and lay down, head hitting the pillow like a brick as you pass out.

Extended rest happening, everyone update your sheets accordingly- remember you gained a level. Session Ends here, play will resume probably sometime tomorrow.

SESSION START

Some indeterminable amount of time after falling asleep, everyone is awoken by the sudden intrusion of Cobalt, as well as three other Royal Guards. Cobalt is sporting a fresh bandage on the side of his neck. "Ok everypony, time to get up." He waits for everyone to give signs of consciousness before continuing. "I have good news- after examining the evidence and conversing with my higherups, as well as the police, we have come to the conclusion that none of you are responsible for the deaths here. Figure head was killed by some sort of chemical explosion, that much is clear, so unless any of you are acid spitting monsters in disguise, we can rule that an accident. As for the other two... I have one last thing I need to see. Ms. Bells, if you would please get up?" Bells struggles to her hooves, sliding off her bed and wincing in pain. "I'm going to need you to move your bed." One of the Guards from earlier approaches her, unlocking her horn ring with a small key-like device, and sliding it off of her. "Ho?" She looks at him quizzically, and then begins trying to move her bed with telekinesis. She struggles for a moment, the bed scraping a few inches, before releasing the spell. "I do not think... I can..." she says between breaths. "As I expected. If you aren't strong enough to move your bed, then I doubt you're strong enough to have thrown those other ponies through that window... I'm not sure how or why, but it seems one of them, or something else entirely, went through, pulling the other with them." Bells looks relieved as the guard removes her other restraints as well. "Furthermore, any further investigation into this incident at this time has been deemed a secondary priority. It will be picked up again after this crisis has been settled, but until then it is on the back burner." Cobalt begins walking back towards the door. "I would recommend all of you pack up and head towards City Hall. The central district has been secured from the zombies. This neighborhood, and the Northeast district of the city, including the medical clinic, have been quarantined and contained. We will escort you out." He pauses, scratching his neck, and then looks over to where Thermal is still strapped to the cloud. Thermal is quiet, but breathing heavily, drooling a bit, and smiling at nothing. "So..." he turns to Storm. "How did the cure come along?"

Storm yanws. "Sorry, I tried conjuring up a cure in The Void. It seemed to work while I was there. He was coherent, and no longer in any pain. Once we got out, he promptly went to sleep and I was back to being exhausted. I was going to check on his condition in the morning, but that seems no longer necessary." That last part he says with a small frown.

"Well, good. I think we should just get a move on then, see what else the Mayor might want to add." Cobalt notices Bells wincing in pain when she moves again. "I take it we also need to take her somewhere to get checked out? How bad is she injured?"

Outside the room the hallways are empty. Nothing much seems to have changed, aside from the three extra Guards Cobalt brought along.

"There are some internal injuries. I'd rather not move her if that's an option, but if not, I'd prefer to see if we could get or rig up a travois for her. Another option is if one of your guards happens to know a cloud-walking spell, we could get another cloud and we could move her that way."

Dodger woke up groggily, at first a little wary seeing the captain in the room, but thankful that, at least this time, their encounter didn't begin with Dodger being tackled to the ground and accused of murder. In fact he seemed to be realizing the obvious - that none of Dodger's merry band COULD have killed Figure Head, or two other ponies he was only vaguely aware of.

Then he heard that "this neighborhood has been contained" and briefly worried that they might have uncovered his base of operations, so to speak. Which was a shame, because Dodger planned on going back there, packing up his stuff, and hiding it elsewhere, but that seemed impossible with the heavy guard presence in town. The good news was that there wasn't anything there that could directly connect goods stolen from the griffon gang, and the costume (which was admittedly superhero-like), to Dodger, so for all any guards knew it was some weird fetish dungeon. Neighagra seemed like the place to have weird fetish dungeons.

Dodger got up, rubbing his eyes, considering what, if anything, he would need to "pack up". Most of his stuff was in the "weird fetish dungeon", and getting it out and put into a saddlebag would be an... interesting experience, especially with guards that, he was sure, didn't trust him and were likely to assault him before asking questions.

"I think I can walk, though it will be very slow if I am to not injure myself." Bells says, stretching her legs to see how far they go before it hurts, and to make them less stiff.

"... Ok, grab her." The guard steps forward and throws her over his shoulder- surprisingly very gently, though, as she doesn't get jostled too much. A magical shimmer glows to life around her as another guard supports her with telekinesis. The two of them walk out the door. "Alright, everyone, let's go." Cobalt and the third guard stay behind, waiting for everyone to clear out of the room first.

Just looking for confirmation here that everyone is following along. Also, Storm now speaks green, apparently?

Cobalt and his guards lead you out of the house and into the street. Those who were outside should notice a distinct lack of corpses- but where they went, nopony says. Heading towards town hall, you can hear all around you the sounds of mounting chaos- glass shattering, stone breaking, wood cracking, and various sounds probably made by ponies, sane or otherwise. After a few minutes, you come upon a barrier, clearly more efficiently built then any of the makeshift barricades from before. Sandbags and wire fencing line he main road from the Estates towards the center of town, and two Ponies in armored hazmat suits stand guard. "Civilians." Cobalt says to them. "No infections. Right?" They all look at the group for confirmation.

And don't worry, I'm sure the kid Kanen brought home is perfectly fine, too.
