Re: The League [OOC]
A third option, you say? Hmm. I wonder... any chance I could try to open that deposit box, or did we fuck up the lock banging that thing around so much?

You have to get it from me first, and I'm using it to strangle Wall.

I'm not worried about that part. Ash is good at nicking things.sunbeam wrote:You have to get it from me first, and I'm using it to strangle Wall.

Re: The League [OOC]
You have the option of attempting to open the safe deposit box. Of course, that partially hinges on the ability to take it from Yuri.

So, can I just take this box and run with it?

That was my plan, and I don't see anything stopping you.
I rather hope ash goes rogue here and steals the box. It would be an interesting time.

Sometimes you can go in blind with these but I'm setting this to Dexterity DC 15 as a one off. Succeed and it opens. Fail and it's jammed in a way that will either cause a -5 penalty on the next lockpick attempt and/or require it to be forced open.

Trying to remember, has she used her hero point yet?

The equivalent of a magic point in Wanderlust.

Re: The League [OOC]
I'm reasonably confident I haven't used any hero points, mostly because I'm not entirely sure what they are.

Re: The League [OOC]
"Heroic Abilities
Some Abilities will say “Heroic” in the Uses line. Heroic Abilities are extraordinary effects that go above and beyond the power of abilities with similar costs. Each character can only use one Heroic Ability between each Extended Rest. This means that once you use a Heroic Ability, you cannot use any further Heroic Abilities - whether they are the same ability or not - until you have taken a full Extended Rest.
Each character automatically gains the Heroic Action ability upon character creation.
Heroic Action - Heroic
Time: Instantaneous
Trigger - You or a creature you can see makes a skill check and you dislike the result.
Effect - That creature gains a +10 bonus to the triggering check.
Yes, you get to find out if the check is a success or a failure before deciding whether to spend your Heroic Action. Often a +10 bonus will be more than enough to make the difference."
-Player's handbook
A good example of using Heroic action is Yuri dodging Staticaster's lightning.

Re: The League [OOC]
Hm. Yeah, I could do that. I mean, on the one hand, if I get the -5 penalty there's a 50/50 chance I'll get it open on the next roll, and I'll still be able to spend the point to guarantee it if my luck stays bad; on the other hand, if the lock breaks entirely I only have 6 points in Might so that'll probably be a much harder roll. Plus there's stuff going down and it might help if I resolve this sooner rather than later.
Eh, I'll spend the point. It's probably not the most optimal use but if I sit on it waiting for a time when I really need it I'm just gonna end up finishing out the scenario without spending it at all.

Re: The League [OOC]
- Spoiler:
- Varying between Aspirations of Harmony/Living Legends and Wanderlust are Magic/Heroic Points. They're the gameplay mechanics version of a heroic second wind. After seeing the results of a skill check--either your's or an ally's--you can choose to add a +10 bonus to it. These are generally limited to one a day with them being refreshed after an extended rest. Their secondary usage is as fuel for abilities with Magic/Heroic for their number of uses.
Spent time offline typing and Sunbeam already answered it. I'll try to get to the post soonish. Sorry for the delays.

Ah I see. Taking so long to progress the posts so that I forgot about the second pod. Very sneaky, DM.
Has it been a minute since I started prepping forcefield?

Less than a minute but I'm opting to be lenient instead of strict this one time.

Yes, though to maintain it you can't fight at the same time.

Re: The League [OOC]
I figured "I don't have any rope" works better as a joke than an actual obstacle to gameplay so I took the liberty of just kind of dropping some in for myself. Of course, if the GM would rather make me work for it I can walk that back.

Re: The League [OOC]
Okay, careful description request time.
Where is Staticaster relative to the bank? Is she next to a second floor window? Near the ground?
Where is Staticaster's ship relative to the bank, and what direction is it headed? Is it over the next roof, or considerably farther? Is it threatening to flatten us, or moving away to crash into some landmark, or what?
