Silent Belle, could you post the monster adjacency please?

Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Oh, uh, I'll use the initiative order, it's easy that way. Also you guys can argue which adjacency you want with each other, or I could just use initiative for ease.
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Proto's build doesn't work great with Wave of Zeal... I've never got extra pips needed to give yea.Curunir wrote:

Did I do the saving roll thing right? It seems wierd to make a save against a condition I imposed on myself the turn I get it, but you make a saving roll at the end of your turn, right?
Unrelated note, I was wondering who would be able and willing to spend 1 pip for (Wave of Zeal) next turn (of course depending on the situation)- didn't use it this time because we didn't all have pips to spend (a small cost for Proto's spectacular roll) and it might not be neccesary.
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
I might have some pips to spare next turn, depending on how I roll.

Maretoko = 19
B1 = 15
B2 = 9
Q2 = 5
Q3 = 5
Pacu = 4
Hussar = 3
Proto = 3
Blitzkrieg = 2
Q4 = 2
Q5 = 1
Q6 = 1
I think you skipped Blitzkrieg...
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Mmm... After thinking it over... Maybe I can spare a pip. If I do Trance next turn that'll allow me to spare a pip but giving me four vul to deal with temporarlly.
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Good thing you blew up those three other little guys Xel They can pack quite a punch if they aren't mitigated.
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
I can spare a pip for Wave of Zeal. Exactly 1. And I still get what I want. Everyone wins.
Also, I don't think any of us have any interrupt talents that can save PACU. Poor PACU.

Yeah unless you guys can kill these things before I melt and they don't wail on me while I'm unconcious. I'm dead.
Oh well.
I'll stat up a tanky warlord or summoner to replace it and drop into the queue.
Was planning on doing it when leveling up anyway. *Shrug*

Well, if you wanted to keep PACU, keep in mind that the Overseer is a wizard scientist. He can rebuild you, he has the technology (although you might have to sit out a battle). But if you want to do a full respec anyway, that's cool too.

Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Yeah. I was thinking if I actually survived I would either Teleport out or self-destruct (Depending on what silentbelle prefers, either way going to the back of the queue and lettign the next person fight) and sending in the same PACU with the A.I going funny (teleporting) or a different PACU with pre-funnied AI (self-destructing) when it reaches me. The overseer rebuilding/repairing it could work too again if Silentbelle is alright with the idea.

Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Well, you aren't dead yet... We'll see how this goes, but I'd be fine with either choice really. The idea is to test the monsters and neat combos and stuff, so the more variety the better

Could you do that? Even though it might be a little inefficient (considering we only have 5 enemies left, one of which has temporarily vanished, if my count is right) I think this would be a good opportunity to get rid of all or most of them (they're all bloodied, I think) so that we can probably save poor PACU. If everyone who's still standing chips in, I can do 3d8 + 2 to all of them with CHARGE! (Wave of Zeal)
Questions:
First, would Hussar's armor (Resist 4 vs. single-target attacks) work against the explodey-goo that happens when these things die? It seems to be some sort of immediate/reaction attack, with a single target.
Second, can we spend a minor action to switch out a combat ability (forgive me if that's a stupid question, I don't know if that's a rule or an option)

You certainly can switch out moves with a minor action. You cannot however resist it's acid trait as it's not an attack. On the plus side, the acid trait only works when you hit them with an attack that targets 2 or fewer targets.

Wait, how does PACU have positive HP now?

Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Healing from negative treats the recipients HP as 0.
I checked the handbook to see if I could make saving throws while unconcious.

Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Sunlance always stuck me as an AOE type attack... Given that it had such effects.
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Oh right... I'll check my wording...
Deal 3 damage to any enemy that attacks this demon with an attack that has 2 or fewer targets. If they make any attack roll, and one of more of the numbers that's rolled is a 1, they are instead dealt 5 damage.
Now the question is does the attack have 2 or fewer targets when there is only one enemy to target? I'm pretty sure it does so I'll take away the damage.

Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
I always thought of the attacks that use the Adjacet rules means it'll hit a three-target type of AOE... But are we forced into all attacking now being single target becuase of the fact that he's all that left? I'm not sure what to think about that. Other then I don't like it...

Yeah, well since it can usually hit three targets (and in this case you are probably hitting nearby dead bodies) I count it as three or more targets, rather than just one.
Re: The Overseer's Challenge (OOC/Sign Up)
Well, the way I'd think about it is that, for example, a fireball or hail of arrows isn't going to change much in form simply because only one target remains.
Edit: Looking at Sunlance, it looks like it's a single-target attack which has an additional effect on adjacent targets...
