Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
- Spoiler:
- Well, keeping in mind that this is based off of what knowledge you possess about the Crystal Empire...
The magic used by Sombra is always Dark-aligned stuff, and usually pretty nefarious. There's no real data on some of the spells he used, but it is often claimed to be powered by despair - hence all the tyranny flying about everywhere. Despair-powered Dark-aligned magic is powerful stuff; the hopelessness of a single soul could easily lift a large house off the ground for several seconds, it is estimated. It might very well be true that Sombra used some sort of spell to make himself partially composed of this same type of magic, which would have increased his power ever-further and provided his inevitable weakness to the light-aligned hope magic that eventually destroyed him.

(\Hahah, so I accidently hit the send button instead of the preview button./)
Well then. Best not to wake the Rock. So, what are we doing? Composed, do you have any more cider? Is there somewhere I can sleep and where, is my prototype. I left it right there. It was just sitting there.
Cobbled trotted around nervously, half because of the semi-crazy pony infront of him, half because he had forgot the only machine he had thought to bring.
Can I... pop back home for a sec? Is that a thing I can do? I didn't really get much of a chance to pack.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
Luthier was surprised when Brilliant Shimmer began singing a lullaby- he had apparently been taking too long to think of what to do. It certainly did the trick though- Luthier let out a sigh of relief when Rock Salt fell asleep. He smiled to see the disturbed pony so happy looking- apparently his nightmares didn't extend to his sleep.
"Thank you, that was lovely- it certainly seems to have brought Rock Salt some peace at last. Sounds like your mother was a wonderful mare, that's a nice memory to have, even if its a shame you don't have more." Luthier decided against asking what happened to Shimmer's mother.
Luthier blinked, looking at Cobbled Stone- forgetting the young colt was there. He looked like he had been handling the situation fairly well, if a bit shaken from Rock Salts' insanity.
"I'm pretty sure Rock Salt drank all of it, I'm afraid. I can make some more if we can get our hooves on some more." He let out a yawn as he exited the room with the sleeping crystal pony, and turned to the guards. "I second Cobbled's question- when are we going to get some sleep? I know we have important things to do, but I'm afraid Luna might have easily forgotten that most of us would be sleeping at this time- and were when we were first called here. Some point soon we'll be quite worthless if we don't get enough rest."

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
Lunar yawns, but total he looked like he wanted to move and keep moving... The Goddess of the Moon intrusted him with a task... He didn't wanta stop till it was over, regardless of the reality of how very much tired he was from both the fight, the chat with the poor mad foal, and the late hour...
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
"What, you guys weren't planning on having an adventure tonight?" Scorch chuckled. He wasn't tired, due to the fact he was going to spend almost the entire night looking for cave entrances anyway...

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
Well. I fourth my own opinion. I think that the fact that I haven't gotten much sleep was a major... contributor... in my forgetful...ness
Cobbled rubbed his hooves over his eyes, dragging them down his face, trying to wake himself up.
of... the packing... stuff.... never mind.
Cobbled gave up on articulating, set on only doing whatever everyone else was doing, be it sleeping or not.

The rest of you may continue roleplaying as you like, but if you seriously think your character should be getting some sleep, you may want to ask one of the guards or Luna herself that question.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
After much pondering, Wandering Eye... drew a blank. "Hmm... well, I think that's all I can elaborate on with that subject... which is why my choice of mission was the caves below. I..." his voice faltered for a moment. "...I... may have an inkling of what's down there." In a moment he regained his composure. "Or I may not. Either way, I had in fact been preparing for a spelunking expedition when you summoned me."
He yawned. "Hmm, where are we headed? I hope to a bedroom at some point... while, as I said, I was prepared for a long night, this night seems to have gone on pretty long... although I can wait for bed until dawn if you'd like me to synchronize my sleep cycle with yours for the duration of this assignment." He smiled slightly. "And I imagine my companions may not be used to the night life as I." Discovery knows no bedtime, after all.

"Hurgh," Luna says or groans or...something. "I...grr. We understand your need for sleep and theirs as well, but at the same time this mission is of the utmost urgency. Are you certain that this mission can be allowed to wait?"
Meanwhile, Nightbound Plug sticks his head into the room's door and says, "Hey, uh, when you all are finished up here, Luna wants to see you all in the strategy room. Just so you know." He indicates Luthier. "So you can talk about sleeping or not-so-much there with her highness." He smiles. "Have a good evening!"
And with that he is once again out the door.
- Spoiler:
- Firstly, Wander: you'll need to make a Persuasion check on your response to earn you and your allies some sleep.
Everyone else: Uh...when did the room with Rock Salt and the hallway outside where Iggy, Scorch, and the non-Shimmer guards were waitng merge into one entity? Because I've noticed a lot of back-and-forth conversations between people in two different rooms...

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
Wandering Eye shook his head suddenly, then looked over at Luna, voice easygoing as though nothing had happened. "Hmm? Well, I suppose the others might need sleep - in fact, the colt fell asleep on the way - but I made sure to get sleep before setting out. Anyway, I suppose all this talk has left me without a sense of urgency, my apologies. Of course I can get on the matter immediately. Although... I would like to ask you a few things."
In a low voice, he said, "...How much have I told you about some similar caverns beneath my hometown?"

"Sleep? Sleep? Whos complaining about sleep at this point? I mean with all the hay thats been happening tonight we might as well get the day started. Might as well buck on sleep, drink us some super dark caffeine-injected coffee and get on with this annoying mission."
Iggy looked around for the bothersome pony from earlier.
"Hey you with non stop talking show me where I can get late night energy."

"Not in my job description," Plug says. "I don't have to if I don't feel like it. My job is to escort you where Luna wants me to take you, and then you can ask her for some coffee and if she says yes, I will happily grab some sweet sweet mocha for you, alrighty?"
"Settle," Grizzle said, a hint of harshness seeping into his tone. "Don't let him rile you up, Plug."
"Spark," Plug corrected before turning to lead the way back to the strategy room.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
Brilliant simply followed Scorch towards the strategy room. While she admitted she could probably use a rest, there wasn't really enough time. Maybe she could improvise a spell to at least make her feel rested? Relying on magically negating the need for sleep constantly was insane, but a night or two couldn't hurt...
- Spoiler:
- What would the DC for using Magecraft to alleviate sleep be? I assume it would be easier to make it feel like you're rested than actually replacing the need for rest, but could she pull either off?

He stood at the entrance for a moment, staring at her and her smirk and not quite sure what to make of it. "Well, my princess, you need only ask and I'll tell you everything you want." He smiled a little as well before following her.

"Just one question, really. The rest is immaterial." she pauses in her step for just a quarter of a second. "What...did the creature down there look like? I know, you've told me before, but...have you remembered anything new?"

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
The pause in his step was longer. Much longer. He stared off into space once more for a long moment. "...I'm afraid time hasn't made the image any clearer in my mind. Even at the time, it's... it's like it was part of a dream, with only a vague, indefinite form. I... I do think, at one time, I dreamed of it... and in that moment its form was clear. But I remember nothing of that dream, only that it happened. Perhaps. It takes some faith to believe I saw it at all... even for me."
He chuckled and then continued on his way and on his topic. "Sorry to be vague, but when it comes to the Beyond, sometimes that's all there is."

Lunar nods to Iggy. "Right... Moving forward would be better than stopping... We'll be better the quickly we work on this quest."

Luna tries not to let the disappointment show on her face. "Very well then," she says, nodding to a passing maid as she reaches the leading back to the strategy room. "I suppose it was foolish of me to expect greater. Still, the Beyond is just so..." she opens the door once more. "Different from here."

"I suppose you're all right, this is important, we can sleep later. At least I had gotten some sleep before coming here." Luthier joined the others in going to the strategy room.
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga
Right-y then.
Cobbled shut his eyes tight, just before opening them wide as he could, going cross-eyed.
Onward.

"I'm... sorry, Luna." He didn't like letting her down, even if he couldn't help it. "My research continues as always, of course... and I may yet find more on this mission."

Iggy seemed to perk up a bit; almost as if he was happy? But he doesn't feel happy just less annoyed....
"Which reminds me I'm willing to bet that crystal pony was a waste of time right?"
