Cobalt lets out a small groan of disapproval, shaking his head. "2 Infected?" One of the masked guards echoes. "This area is quarantined, no one coming out that's been infected." "I know that." Cobalt snaps at him, rubbing his neck again. "Listen, it is very important that these ponies get through, infection or otherwise. I'm vouching for them." "Not happening sir, our orders come from Knight Lieutenant Waters herself. Nopony infected comes past here." The other three guards make their way to the gate, one still carrying Bells. "Anyone not infected may pass." the second masked guard says, holding up some kind of device that looks more or less like a magic wand. Nothing seems to happen when he waves it in front of the guards, so he waves them through. However, when Cobalt steps forward to argue again, the wand sends out a spark, and both gate guards look at him. "Sir, about that injury on your neck...."

Break in the exposition, anyone who wants to interject or make a move can do so.

"The reason that I must be let through is that I have important information on the Blue Moon poison itself. I can also possibly create a cure. Speak to your superior if you must. Take what precautions you must, but I must be let through and allowed access to a lab."

"Their detection wands, obviously tweaked to pick up signs of the Blue Moon." Gearick said, an educated guess, as he had seen such wands before as his time as a guard, he also step up to speak, but turned sidewise, focusing on his identification on his shoulder, allowing the guards to see it as he spoke. "I am Gearick, Lancier First Class of the 8th Magical Sciences and Engineering Division. I also vouch for Storm given access to a lab in order to process a cure, I have no doubt that out of everyone here, he has the best chance of making a successful cure."

"We're trying to make a cure. Yes, we're infected, but we... he's the only one close to figuring out how to stop this." Cobalt explains as the rest of the group, minus Storm, are let through. "Sorry sir, and you too, Lancier, but our orders come from above you. Nothing we can do about it." "Sergeant," one of the escorting guards interjects, "We can go report to Town Hall, see if the Lieutenant will at least hear you out." "Go ahead. We'll be here, apparently." The other Guard nods and the three of them start walking.

Won't be convincing your way through here, unfortunately.

Seeing that Storm and Cobalt aren't being let through, Bells pipes up. "If not already known, these two would be perfect for finding out how long it takes to go from point of infection to to the point of... insanity is the word? They can tell you exactly when they were infected, I think."

"Everyone not infected should evacuate the area... but that's just a recommendation." The gate guard responds, and clarifies, "We can't necessarily force you to leave." Cobalt shrugs and turns around. "My guys will make sure you all get to Town Hall safe, and get miss Bells some medical treatment. They can then show you to the Lieutenant, and you can plead our case to her." He turns to Storm. "In the meantime, is there anything you can do from inside the quarantined area? Any labs or resources to use?"

Last chance to do stuff, or stay behind. Hopefully Storm doesn't do another solo again so soon.

Storm trots up to Cobalt. "There's is perhaps another alternative. I remember there is another medical practice nearby. run by somepony named Dr. Quick Fix. He's likely evacuated, but his place still has medicine and more importantly, medical equipment. What would be the procedure here? Would we be able to commandeer it?"

Group:
The guards continue toward Town Hall, ushering the rest along. Outside the neighborhood, the City definitely appears to be deteriorating. The temporary housing around town hall has been simultaneously expanded to accommodate the wealthy ponies from the quarantined Estates, and gutted to provide materials for barricades and defenses.

"Its somewhere in the Estates neighborhood. I guess we'll need to look around for signs."

OOC:We're already in the Estates neighborhood, correct? That's were Figurehead's mansion is.

Unlike most of the ponies, Gearick stayed with Storm, feeling that as a guard, he should do what he can to end the infection as quickly as possible.

Storm, Gearick:
You begin heading through the streets, Storm taking the lead. Twice on your way you almost run into a few infected ponies, but Storm's quick thinking and sense of direction allows you to circumnavigate the obstacles and encounters, and still arrive at what must be Dr. Quick Fix's place within a few minutes. A sign out front confirms this. The house is a two story building, similar enough style to Figure Head's, but lacking a tower. It has a small gated in yard, like the other houses, but the gate and fence is much taller, and has a box on it, with a sign that says "Insert Appointment Slip Here."

Nat 20 allows you to pass up any and all encounters and dangers on the way here.

"Nice navigation." Gearick complimented Storm as the medic tried the door, though to be honest, Gearick was pretty sure that it was going to be locked... then again, if one was leaving in a hurry, locking the door might be the least of one's worries.

Storm, Gearick:
The gate appears to be "locked", in that when you try to push it open, it doesn't move. There doesn't appear to be any locking mechanism on the door, though, or a handle, just the box for appointment slips.
