The Sun Sets

Penned, thinking through his options carefully, turns to the pegasus holding him and says " Listen, the guards will not let you go easily if you keep fighting, if you give up now, they might not use extreme force."

I mean, either finding out you were pregnant, or finding out you miscarried? One of the two should hit you, I should think."

"Yeah. Well, thanks doc. I'll be leaving now." Scales begins to move away, before stopping, "Oh, and tell that young guard that my red earth pony friend says hi." Scales starts to leave now...

Sunburst is taken aback by the sudden acquiescence, and suspicious.  But she isn't about to give up a chance to get out of the restraints.  As soon as the bonds are released she tries to get up and stumbles a bit.  He legs feel wobbly, either from the drugs or from being restrained she wasn't sure, and her wings feel cramped.  She give her wings a few flaps and flares them out to stretch them.
"Th-thank you," She tells Quick Fix.  She's still having trouble getting a bead on him and she's not relishing the thought of being in the room with only Quick Fix and Juniper.  But... She really wasn't sure what to think of Juniper. And then there's that third pony...  Her head twinges a bit, likely an effect of plowing headlong into a door frame.  
She goes cross-eyed for a moment trying to look at her bloodied nose. "Is there a towel, or gauze, or something I can have?" She takes a quick scan of the room looking for something to clean up her muzzle, and a sink.

OOC:

Gearick:
"The book is personal information. It's blackmail material, basically. He wants it so he can extort me, and my finances." She sighs, opening it to the first page. "It's also a reminder of my late fiance. I only agreed to give it to him as payment because I was desperate. My body was being destroyed, I was dying. He was the only one who had the ability to help me... ad now I owe him more than I can afford to give."

Scales:
"Yeah of c- oh? Uh, yeah, sure I'll tell him." The surgeon smirks a bit, opening the door to the break room, and retreating into it.

Bells, Dodger:
You look around as Blackberry leads you back into the main lobby. The first guard you happen to see, conveniently, is the surgeon. You see him finish speaking to Scales, just before heading back into the break room. Neither of them notice you.

Sunburst:
"Oh, yes, of course." Quick Fix points out the sink and paper towels, then exits the room. You hear the door lock behind him. Once he's gone, you can take a better look around. The room is ostensibly just a patient examination room. The cabinets have a sparse collection of basic supplies- tongue depressors, cotton swabs and balls, gauze strips, bandages, a first aid kit. And, in one of the drawers, a bottle of iodine solution, a bottle of saline, some unmarked pills, and a set of 5 unused syringes, one of which looks like its big enough to impale a pony on. In the drawer below it, there is a simple surgical kit- scissors, stitching, a scalpel.

Sleuth:
The Pegasus grips you tightly, not willing to let go. "Just... just stay back, I... I have a hostage." His voice is shaky. Clearly he wasn't expecting a confrontation with the Guard. As he grips you though, you find you can still move fairly well, and he seems to be very distracted right now.

Storm:
You mange to shave off some bits of wood into your mixture. It isn't pretty, but it looks like you have just about done it. Just before you complete the antidote, though, the door to the lab opens. "Everything coming along, Dr. Storm?" Quick Fix asks nonchalantly. "Unfortunately I will need to steal your companion for the moment. Miss Juniper, the patient requires assistance." She nods, turning to walk with him towards the door.

PS, combat is officially on pause (probably over) for now, so you're recombined.

Storm, if you're going to do the bonus to curing a disease roll thing, now is the time.

Scales starts to head to the office she shares with the other detectives...

"Ah, detective!" said Dodger, catching sight of Night Scales. "Perfect timing! We were just about to help this mare find her child. Care to aid us?"

Night Scales sighs. She kinda has a lot on her plate as it was. "Any idea where the foal might be?"

As they leave, Storm fiddles with the mortar and pestle and some beakers to produce the cure.

"You're a detective," said Dodger. "And I'm good at finding my way around. Between us and Bells' magical assistance we should be able to find him easily."

Penned, seeing that he is distracted, tries to wrestle out of the grip of the pegasus.

OOC:

"Excuse me," Bells says, trying to get the doctor's attention, "We are trying to help this mare find her son, and think he may be in Guard custody. Do you know ho we could talk to that could help us with that?"

Gearick:
"Any others? No, I don't know of any specifically, though I'm sure there must be." Cobalt enters the room as she finishes her sentence. "Everything looks good down there. We should get back." He spots the book in her lap. "Is that it?"

Storm:
As the others leave, you put the final touches to your mixture. Stirring it together, the bits dissolve, and the fluid turns a musty pink. You're confident that this is the elusive cure you've been after.

Bells, Scales, Dodger:
The Surgeon, who had been joking with the other guards about something, looks back from the table, his face darkening when he sees you, and it continues to do so as you make your request. "Sure." He turns to the other guards, two of whom have stood up to help. "Where should they go to find a foal?" Swallowtail steps forward and answers. "Well the Lieutenant should know, if he was brought back here. We'll help you look." Blackberry steps forward, though. "He wasn't. Where else would he have been taken?" "Oh... uh..." Swallowtail thinks for a minute, then somberly shrugs. "I don't know ma'am."

Sunburst wets some of the paper towels and wipes the blood from her muzzle and forelegs and ponders what to do.  It wouldn't make sense to release her just to beat her down and recapture her, unless he was some seriously sick, sadistic sonofa-... Well that could be a possibility then but...  She takes drink out the tap and rubs a spot on one of her legs that feels particularly sore.  The scalpel probably wouldn't help and just makes things worse. She sighs, dumps the bowl of water and fills it back up and grabs paper towels and rest them on the bed, continuing to swab the blood

Sunburst:
After a moment, you hear hoofsteps, and the door unlocks and opens. Quick Fix and Juniper walk in, closing the door behind them. Juniper holds a small notepad and pen, and takes a seat. Quick Fix walks over to you. "Still bleeding? That's not optimal." A scribble on the pad from Juniper. "Please sit on the table. I can't have you lying back while you're bleeding, but should be able to press on." He takes a seat on the stool. "Now, are you ready? I'm going to examine you, so please don't be nervous."

Storm stares at the precious fluid lying before him.  'It's finally done.' he thinks to himself.  'Now to test.'

Storm prepares a slide with a small drop of his blood on it along with a small bit of the cure, and looks at it under the microscrope.

OOC: What does he see, and how many potential doses of the cure are there in the vial?

Bells sighs. "Time for Pan 2. Do you have a pen and paper I may borrow?" Upon receiving such, she scribbles down a note and rolls it up, making it disappear in a puff of cold air. (Using Spike, Take A Letter, sending to Cobalt)

Note:

"Now we should go to meet Cobalt, and hopefully find the colt." Bells says, turning to go, but turning back around to look at the doctor. "Why do you give me such a look?"

Sleuth:
Your sudden struggling throws the surprised Pegasus off of you, accidentally headbutting him. The guards see this, and they both lunge at you, the larger guard grabbing him, the mare grabbing you and putting you into another hold. "You're both coming with us." She says calmly, as the stallion wrestles the other Pegasus to the ground.

Storm:
You watch the cure react with your infected blood. The infected cells begin to boil, growing misshapen as the toxin is removed. It's uncertain how uncomfortable, if at all, the process would be, but eventually the reaction settles, and the clean cells remain. However, most of the sample of the antidote you mixed with the blood has effectively disappeared. There may only be enough for one, maybe two full doses.

Sunburst most definitely IS nervous.  She tenses up and nods, her sight darting between Quick Fix and Juniper (more so on Quick Fix).  she moves the bowl out of the way but still in arm's reach and sits on the bed. Its just a doctor's exam... she tells herself, not really believing it.  Her wings twitch a little.

Penned, thinking that picking a fight with the guards probably isn't the best idea, so he lets the guards take him in.

Gearick:
Cobalt frowns. "I won't lie, I suspected payment like this might have a nefarious purpose. Unfortunately, unless he's blackmailed you already, or you have evidence of his intent... For now it was a deal you willingly made, yes? The simplest thing would be to just hand it over, and if you don't want-" Cobalt is cut off by a chill as a piece of paper materializes in the air in front of him, cold to the touch. He lets it fall to the floor, before grabbing it and reading what it says. "...the colt? I walked him out myself..." He looks back at you. "It looks like we have another minor problem. I need to go meet your friends, apparently a young colt that I took to Town Hall... never arrived?" He shakes his head. "I have to go. Gearick, I trust your judgment. The antidote is what matters, so handle this as you see fit. Ma'am." He nods to Peppers, and walks away. Peppers turns to you, eyes still shut. "That is unfortunate, foals going missing. So, what did you think we should do about... this?"

Bells, Dodger, Scales:
The surgeon glances around, then looks at you. "Oh... nothing, ma'am. Just... concerned. Please take it easy, you still should be resting after such invasive surgery." Swallowtail steps forward. He glances at Dodger, but directs his question to Scales. "Uh, will you still be needing any assistance?"

Sunburst:
"Ok, then." Quick Fix examines you... and that's it. Straightforward, exactly the kind of thing you'd expect at a regular checkup. Stethoscope, ears, nose (which he mentions is still bleeding), reflexes, etc. He finishes, sitting back, and saying, "Good, excellent. Just about done. Miss Juniper?" You hear it before you see it, the syringe kit bag unzipping. Turning to look, she has a needle ready for you, and she approaches you swiftly.

Sleuth:
The female Guard guides you down to the ground. "You look peaceful," she says, "So I won't cuff you. But you're coming with us for questioning, understood?" She places a hoof on the back of your neck, ensuring your compliance. You can see the other Guard cuffing your opponent, who is still fighting.

Storm knows he can't create an antidote for every single pony in town, but he can create a few more, and sets out to use the remaining ingredients to create them.
