Half-finished, thought I'd get feedback re: abilities.

As for combat... I'm trying to learn my way around this system still, hinestly. I have an idea for a combat role, destabilising the enemies through debuts and dominating them, or getting them to damage themselves. I'm just not sure of the right balance of moves to do that.

Honestly Cavalry, I would love to help, but I'm just as bad with combat. I'm sure someone else can help out, though. Both you and Mjh6's character's are amazing though, and I can't wait to interact with them!

As far as combat builds go Cav, I'm thinking maybe taking advantage of that upgrade to Caltrops, then comboing it with Paranoia, and Tragedy?

Also, why did you take specialist? You don't seem to be using it.

I was definitely thinking of paranoia, though Tragedy reminds me; how does Skype combat deal with "adjacent" enemies? Just whoever so next on initiative?

Specialist was because I wanted to try and get a high Sense count (since my disguise abilities use Perception and Persuasion). I admit, kind of wondering about it, but... also wondering if I should shift a point out of brawn to elsewhere...

Yeah, ignoring anything else ( like Monkey's backfist) just the enemies next to them in initiative.

Since you already have a maxxed Sense score, if you move the point, it would have to go somewhere else

Well, this is a pet peeve,mI suppose. Considered getting fracture the fourth wall, if only because it sounded fun, but... four points for something that can only ever be used twice seemed pricey.

If I move the point, it would probably go to precision. Compass already has my history buff character slot filled.

What if every single player is (known to them IC or otherwise) actually a descendant of one of the mane 6? Plot twist: it isn't the same Shining Armor as the one in canon. Twilight doesn't have any descendants but otherwise, yeah

I honestly wouldn't be down with that, but if you wanna personally be RD's descendant, go nuts.

Anyway, character's gonna be held up a bit longer, unfortunately. Google docs is acting weird for me. Hopefully it'll be fixed tomorrow. Sorry for the wait! Never mind, false alarm. Still might be somewhat late though. Also doubleposting.

DOUBLE EDIT: Nope, still not working, actually! Anyone know what's going on when Google Drive loads the file, but every time you try and copy something it says the file is unavailable? It only does it for certain files, too.

That's pretty weird. I never get it flat out telling me that, but there have been many times where I copy one thing from a file, paste it into mine, and then when I try to copy and paste a different thing it just pastes the first one. I always just fixed that by closing that tab and reopening it.

Question for more experienced players; how long does a usual campaign take to level grind?

I have an idea for a combo of abilities for level two, was wondering about feedback.

Currently my combat talents (posted) focus on forcing save ends rolls, and I have the amulet of illness to force a -2 on them. I figure we level up, I can buy the persistent hex combat trait and use my 3 ability points to buy power up, purchasing the Surefire Hex trait; I lose the -3 (though I'll still have -2 from the trinket), but it forces enemies to make multiple save end rolls and take the lowest number.

Thoughts?

We haven't really had enough games to be sure, but so far it's been one level per "situation", and those tend to last three or six months on these forums. SBURB doesn't really have "situations", soooo who knows?

I'd expect we get a level every time we make an entrance, though. No, not the way you're thinking of.

So, after that error I was talking about with Google Drive, I realized "Hey! Maybe it will work if  I try the Living Legends document!" And you know what? I was right.

At first.

After a couple copy-and-pastes, it did the same thing with the new file. I had to reload. Again. And again. And again. Eventually it didn't work at all, which sucked a lot. So I had to figure out how to download google drive documents, then I had to figure out how to properly export my file, then...

...eh. It was all worth it. I'm very proud of Palette Swap.

I figure since the rest of you are conspiracy nuts () it would be mostly my character who convinced you all to try out SBURB even though it's sponsored by the government. He, uh, Knows Some Things, you see. Not really specific Things, mind you. But Things.

Lot of overlap between our out-of-combat abilities but that's okay! More rerolls rather than less is always a good option! Anyway, hope you like.



EDIT: Now that I think of it, since this is a different iteration of SBURB, shouldn't it have a different name? I figure we could call pony version's "STURB" and always refer to it in IC as "this STURB thing" so it sounds like "disturb".

1. Obviously accepted. I like this pony, and I adored the intro.

2. The start date is now set as July Fourth. As such, I'm gonna ask Crys if he's in or out, and if the latter, I'll get a sixth for us.

3. Yeah, I considered that, but it's always Swordwithauinitthat'srelevantinuniverse and I couldn't think of a good one. If you guys come up with one though, I'm all ears.

That's just it about Fracture the Fourth Wall. There really hasn't been a good consensus on how to use it in a forum game; it's the main reason most GMs ban it, and one of the reasons why they aren't retooling it for the new system.

Like I said, I can live without it if it proves to be too big of a deL.

Because I thought google docs was a pastry chef, and those aren't even similar...

Anyway, love the username...and the background. You guys really went to town with those... I should probably rewrite Oceans in more Homestuck style.

I was under the impression "session" meant the entire campaign... If not, perhaps close each session at a suitably dramatic point? A twist, or a final boss fight, then "End if Act I", marking the end of a session.

...actually...that's not a bad idea. Alright. I'll start planning the sessions end times then.
