Wanderlust: Equestrian Nights

Bubbling Spring's ice wall forms quickly, but not instantly: the cultist sees this, and skids to a halt, tossing the yellow mare through the door before it closes off. Astoundingly, she rolls with it, popping to her hooves at the end of a graceful dive-roll and hobbling away.

The cultist turns around, looking back and forth between you: he bows his head and lays down. ((This is the closest pony equivalent to "hands on your head" that I can think of. Think about it: the head is down, and the hooves are pinned beneath the body.))

Bubbling Spring looks appreciatively at his ice wall. "It's nice to be someplace where ice doesn't immediately melt." He comments. He looks up and around at the other ponies. "Does anybody have any rope? If he knock him out and tie him upside down from the rafters, he'll have a hell of a time getting out of here before the battle's over."

Glowing Soft and Water Drop give Bubbling Spring a look. "Where in all of Equestria would ice melt immediately?" "A volcano? Near the sun? Appleoosa?"

"Spoken like two ponies that have never had to walk across the desert just after high noon." Bubbling Spring says dryly. "I'm Bubbling Spring. Who are you two?"

Wandering Eye tilts his head slightly as if listening to somepony, then turned to the twins. "Are you two all right?" He then looked over the newcomers. "I'm Wandering Eye, by the way. I'm afraid I don't have any rope, but maybe there's something in this house..." He looks around, trying to find something that isn't burned with which to bind the prisoner.

Roll:

((For the sake of moving things along, I'm going to wave my magic GM Wand and ignore that Nat 1.))

Wandering Eye manages to find a roll of duct tape in the cupboard.

Meanwhile, Water Drop hears Rainbow's voice again. "How are we doing on that fire, O-1?"

"Excellent." Bubbling Spring says as Wandering Eye pulls out the roll of duct tape. He brings his hoof back and smashes it into back of the cultist's head, hoping to knock him out cleanly.

OOC:

Before the adult pony went to go smash the cultist, Lavender hopped off, and went to collect Teddy. "Don't do that again" she scolded, before throwing him on her back and heading  back towards where all the things were happening now.

((I'm goingnto assume Lavender has joined the other PCs.))

Bubbling Spring brings his hoof down on the cultist's head; however, Spring isn't the best bludgeoner, and apparently the cultist isn't the best bludgeon-ee. All he accomplishes is leaving a nice bruise on the pony's head, eliciting a nice oof. He lifts his face just enough to let the hood fall back, revealing an orange head, without a horn. He responds in a stiff, monotone voice.

"That is not neccesary. I am not going anywhere."

"I would say, 'it doesn't hurt to make sure' but obviously it does, so..." Without further ado he binds the pony's hooves together securely with duct tape.

Water Drop quickly responds to Rainbow Dash. "The fire is out, the house saved, and we caught one of the cultists alive and fully conscious." Glowing Soft blinks a moment. "Umm... maybe it's just me, but is it a good idea to keep somepony who could possibly know magic spells, unicorn or not, fully conscious?"

"As you can see, I tried, and it didn't work out too well." Bubbling Spring replies, a little sharply.. "Does anyone have any better ways of knocking someone unconscious?"

"I might," Wandering Eye states, thinking of a spell to put others (or oneself) to sleep. "But we might be able to... interrogate him otherwise."

Bubbling Spring points at the still-blocked door. "We're in an active war zone." He states emphatically. "Is now really the time for an interrogation?"

"...You raise a valid point. Still, I didn't necessarily mean now." Wandering Eye looked to the bound captive. "Just one question. Who was that pony you helped escape?"

The cultist takes a moment to answer, as if a little confused. "...She is ours. She is... Stronger, less expendable."

Bubbling Spring looks inquisitively at the cultist, then trots over a window and throws it open, sticking his head out to look at the battle.

OOC:

Looking outside, Bubbling Spring sees the linenof fighting has gotten a lot closer; while the battle hasn't reached the town proper, the Guard has still fallen back significantly, and you can see wounded being dragged back to town by their comrades and by your fellow volunteers.

Bubbling Spring pulls his head back in, thankful that it wasn't taken off by an errant projectile. "The fight's not here just yet, so we can either help the other volunteers or interrogate him. I vote for the latter. Now then, how many of 'yours' are there, and how did they get past the lines and into the houses before we even got out here?"

The cultist scowls at Bubbling Spring. "Why should we tell you?"

"Because you were so helpful earlier." Bubbling Spring says, rolling his eyes. "Well if you're only going to give us information willingly, I'll start with that. Why are you attacking? What do you plan on doing to us?"

"Come with us and you will know all the sooner," he replies in a menacing tone. "But no matter. All shall be within the Herd before long."

((Everyone roll Perception.))

"I see," Wandering Eye states. "They have a... collective consciousness, it would seem, and they wish to induct others into it. Devious."

Skill Check:

Lavender wasn't really paying attention to the talk, just standing there waiting for something interesting to happen.

Bubbling Spring rolls his eyes. "So if I waft smoke over you, you'll be complacent?" He says sardonically. Suddenly, his ears prick up and his eyes narrow. "We have officially run out of time for a proper interrogation." He says. His horn lights up, and a puff of flame sets the cultist's mane on fire. "I'm leaving after I ask this question. If you answer on my way out, I'll dump water on you." A second puff sets the cultist's tail on fire. "Now, how did you and your get into Ponyville without anyone noticing?"
