Investigators of the Odd

Kal just stared at the police pony, thinking to himself and trying desperately to figure something out.
He wasn't actually an investigator, and with the only one he had an alibi with out of commision, the griffin had expended all of his options.
Can't ask the low-lifes at the Roach Motel. While they might have some information, that Greasy Spoon character's not going to let him anywhere near the premises.
Can't investigate the mines, not without drawing a lot of unwanted attention to himself. That, and there's no connection between the mines and the vigilante.
Can't work on his day job. Suppose it's more of a hobby really, and a town this size doesn't have much of value. Regardless, it's out of the question as long as the Night Guard is breathing down his back.

And so he just sat and stared at the police pony. Which no doubt generated a certain uncomfortableness in said equine.
