I don't think you should worry about proper ratios of self insert vs. non self inserts. It's all just a made up game anyway. I like to think of it as writing a fiction with a group. One other thing you all should know, I dont think the story will last a whole year, it wAsnt designed too.

It isn't something to really worry about... But I myself, would feel a little weirded out if there are three self-inserts and I'm playing a 100% not intended to be in any real way a self-insert.

What if you did a made up character but with your personality overlay

I don't know... Just hey hands down I don't wanna build a "self-insert" and if there are three "self-insert-ish" characters, that makes me feel bothered enough to wanna not join the game itself. Can't explain why, just how it is for me... Thankfully me and Cav are talking in private about character ideas for us to build and whatnot for this game. Hopefully you'll enjoy whatever these talks end up spawning from me and Cav.

If I may ask, Xel, what is it about self-inserts you don't like? That you'd be uncomfortable with in an RP?

Nothing about self-inserts in and of themselves is the problem... It's more me getting outsider feelings from EVERYONE OTHER THAN MYSELF playing self-inserts that bothers me. Which will not be a thing thanks to Cav agreeing to play a non-self-insert along with me.

In the meantime, I present to Loud Taffy my character, Wormwood. Or at least, his character sheet from an old game which never got off the ground. Anyway, the bio is up to date, which I want approval for before I begin working on his abilities. I want to make sure the concept I was going for is workable. If not, I can simply take away his powers and... find something else to fill his abilities list with.

I actually think a game of entirely self-inserts would get boring fast, but exactly two self-inserts would probably be the most fun

Oh I guess I should mention I am putting together a character for submission. I don't have any idea of what she is going to be mechanically, but she's a Unicorn, young teen, and is the kind of girl you would see shopping at hot topic- poser-goth, rebellious for no reason, likes dark and creepy stuff, poetry, etc. Emo girl.

Her purpose here would be that her life isn't as dark as she thinks, and Silent Hill would be a huge wake-up call. Name is up for debate at the moment.

Having trouble with a build to match her personality. For combat I was planning on recycling an older build from the GE era, healer/warlord, plus a nuke.

Finished, took a modicum of useful Abilities, and used my updated Healer Warlord build.

Meet Bleeding Heart (Props to Xel for the very appropriate name).

Wormwood's also a healer/warlord... this should be interesting.

Fun fact, early idea for Bleeding heart also had her speaking to animals and nature. Anyway, dual healing and extra combat actions is always good.

I will say this much... New system is better suited for new campaigns... Such as this one...

I spent too much time putting together this character to redo her now... but then again, the game hasn't tarted and I do want to try out the new system. I wouldn't be entirely opposed, but it would take until next weekend to rebuild her.

If the new system comes out before the game starts then I'll consider using it.
