(I would argue that the preparation time was so long ago it is no longer prepared, but if it's only 10 seconds anyway, you'd be able to re-prepare it before it's too late...)

With your effects together, you manage to capture the smile and tie it to the now-empty bowl with magic chains. As the leader sees your result, he is surprised, and slightly worried. "That slime?" he asks. "Where has slime come from? Did pony make slime?"

"Ya it is. But we don't know where it came from could've been in the water waiting from years or it could've been created by somebody that wants to kill all the life in the area... Now could you try putting one of those blackback mushrooms into it to see if it actually works? Please tell me you do have some right?"

The leader looks between you and the crowd below. You can see the fear in his face, although you're not sure what it is for. Eventually, he speaks again. "W-we have black mushroom, bu-but why give to pony? It special food for special occasions!" The crowd seems to nod and chat to each other in agreement...

"This may not be a special occasion, but it is an important occasion." Necrar says, adressing the congregation of dragons. "If the blackback mushroom is not used on the lake water, then there is high high chance that not just us ponies, but you as well may be wiped out by the diseases the slimes cause."

Seeing the leader's doubt Sparks speaks up. "Look at it this way you can always grow more mushrooms but all the diseases caused by the slime could wipe you all out.

When the mushroom touches the slime, the slime begins to react violently for a while before exploding all over the bowl, leaving nothing but a small pool of water...

The leader thinks for a bit, and then gives a slight nod. "We treat sick, have been for while. Pony may go, but I send guards to watch and report. Make sure lake slime is real." He signals two archers and one club-wielding guard to open your cage while he returns to his opening, presumably to get more mushrooms...

The leader returns from his opening, holding about five or six Blackback Mushrooms in his arms, giving them to the creatures he signalled out to unlock the cage. "I take Pony word for it," he replies to your generosity...

You leave the cave with the two archers and the club guard, with them leading you through the tunnels once more. This time, instead of the trip being quiet like the first one, the club-wielding creature strikes up a conversation, "Just because Leader trusts Pony, don't make I trust Pony. If Pony try something, I fight back."

"Note... to... self..." Storm Blade panted, struggling to stay on his feet, and cursing as Aces High was knocked outcold. "Kill... others... for... splitting... the... group..." Okay, there was some other things that he was noting, for example make sure everyone is healed as much as possible after a fight before continuing with a mission. Oh and never split the group. Ever. For now through, he had to survive this battle.

Stretching out an arm, Storm Blade fired a bolt of lighting at the wolf that had just knocked Aces out, sighing in relief as it came back and restored his energy.

Splash Control, however, seeing one of the timberwolves get blown away, is motivated once again. He does his best to pick up the fallen Aces High, wake him up, and rush blindly into battle screaming. He isn't going to do much, but it's pretty cool to watch...

(Aces High, Splash Control, and Storm Blade all regain 13 HP)
(Splash Control is no longer bloodied)

The remaining timberwolves take another bite out of their targets, much to the distress of the recently-motivated Splash Control...

(Storm Blade takes 4 damage)
(Splash Control takes 16 damage, and is once again bloodied)
(Aces High takes 11 damage)

(Aces High's turn, then Storm Blade's turn...)

Aces slowly blinked his eye open to a moderately pleasant sight: a pony instead of a timberwolf. He grunted his acknowledgement as Splash Control dropped him roughly, then went charging into the mob of wolves.

Aces sighed. "Well, fight's no' qui' over ye'. Looks like I'd better buckle down an-"

A timberwolf hit him hard, sending him sprawling and tearing open his suit once again. But Aces knew how to take a fall (though it still freaking hurt) and did so, landing with an overexaggerated 'whomp' at the end.

He lay there, motionless, waiting for the right time to act...
