Which of the two cave guards will you be targeting, Scorch? And yes, it is important, actually.
You do not - sorry for the late reply.
@Dusk Raven: just enough kill, actually. Presuming you refer to that last timberwolf.

Hmm, that's a toughie...
The smart thing to do would be taunt Guard B and ignite Guard A, and have Brilliant and Composed burst down Guard A before his turn, assuming what I think will happen is going to happen. Everyone else's thoughts?

Well, I was hoping to keep some of them alive. Interrogation for the guards, and freedom for the Timberwolves.

None of the timberwolves are dead. Nopony is dead, either.
I understand that the reflexive thought that comes to most people's minds when they hear a wooden creature is burning is "oh, that creature is dead now" and I should have acknowledged that and made it more clear that that timberwolf is hurting, not gone. I'm sorry.

I wasn't sure if the one Scorch... scorched, was dead or alive, and I know a lot of the enemy combatants were probably alive.

I would say your plans got derailed when you got blinded for two turns, but that's just me...Dusk Raven wrote:I wasn't sure if the one Scorch... scorched, was dead or alive, and I know a lot of the enemy combatants were probably alive.

Anyway, I'm going to go for Plan "Don't Let These Cowards Run Away, Shoot To Kill!" as mentioned above, so I'll post in the IC thread now, and hope that Retro and Curunir doesn't fail to deliver...

None of the moves I used were attacks, so the blindness was irrelevant. I think the plans got derailed when all those crits happened.

Guard B? Not Guard A?Retrokinesis wrote:

Does it matter? Like, at all? A has ongoing damage already anyway.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
If I'm right about the reason for my target choosing being important is because the ponies are going to retreat into the cave to inform any other ponies and creatures down there that we are here, it kinda does, since I've already locked Guard B down thanks to Knight's Presence forcing the guard to attack Scorch, but Guard A could still run...Retrokinesis wrote:Does it matter? I mean, there's a chance that I'm wrong, but apart from the obvious "One of them has immunity to ODs" possibility, what other reason would my choice matter?

Fine, whatever, I'll switch to A. It's not like it matters so little I flipped a coin to decide or anything .

Yeah, sorry about that, I forgot. But I did check. I'm pretty sure Iggy's attack is the first attack to hit me in this entire campaign, let alone this fight...AProcrastinatingWriter wrote:Also, Paper Shadow, I've chosen to trust what you're saying this time, but in the future (for quicker reference and greater certainty) please post your actual stat as well as what moves you are using in each post you make in battle. I was about to make a smarmy comeback but the realization that we've only had two or three battles these fiftyish pages kind of drained that from me.

Three fights, if you include Lunar's one-on-one against the timberwolf...AProcrastinatingWriter wrote:I was about to make a smarmy comeback but the realization that we've only had two or three battles these fiftyish pages kind of drained that from me.

As for the pagework, remember that there are 7 players and one GM, and a page holds about 15 posts. If you post something, and everyone reacts, that's half a page already done...

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
OK, since we're on a time limit, let's consider our options here:
1. Leave them there and enter the cave. Quickest, but we learn nothing and they tell their buddies what happened when they find them.
2. Incapacitate them and then enter the cave. Brilliant can imprison 2 of them with Cube of Force but we'd have to find something to do with the rest. Maybe tie them up and hide them? This would let us come back and interrogate them later.
3. Interrogate them now and damn the alarm. This would probably lead to another fight once the alarm goes-off but we could learn what they're up to, especially if someone has Honesty.
4. Kill them all and let Celestia sort it out. This would stop them from telling their comrades what happened and preserve our secrecy. Also, we'd probably get mega dark side points/negative karma.
EDIT: I suppose we could also gather them all up and retreat to interrogate them, coming back to assault the cave later. I don't recommend this one because it kinda derails the story and they'll probably have way better security when we come back.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
We could always attempt splitting up. Have the stealthy characters explore the cave, and those that are not stealthy (read: Scorch) can stay on watch and interrogate the guards. Not always the best idea, especially since I don't think anyone has Telepathy to warn the other group if anything happens, but just throwing it out there. In case you disagree with that, I'd say that the most reasonable ones would be 1 (although we would certainly be pincered, and I don't like that) and 4 (morally questionable, but I'll do the deed so you all can keep your hooves clean). Also, to avoid to alarm going off, I suggest rationing posts, so everyone gets two posts for now. That doesn't sound like a lot, but between the seven of us, that's fourteen posts...

Splitting the party, for once, sounds like a good idea... otherwise, option 2 sounds good... although, aren't they already unconscious?

Yes, I meant "disable". Tie them up, hide them in a closet, use Force Cube, etc. Something to stop them from waking-up and running for the alarm.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
Unfortunately, as it stands the game cannot continue until we reach some sort of consensus.
If this state of affairs goes on for more than another day or two, I'll force an event in order to move things along, but in addition to not liking to do things like that in general (it removes the party's free will, the only weapon they have against the narrative I fashion), in this specific instance...well, I'm just gonna warn you all that you won't like the event I force.

*head slowly hits table*
Okay, I know I said that after a day or two I'd force the issue, but I didn't think that would mean that nobody would post at all. In fact, that doesn't make sense.
I want people to tell me why they aren't posting, because clearly there is some underlying problem occurring that isn't going to be solved by making the party undergo something unpleasant. Speak up.

Welll I figured the Arcana specialist of the party would try to dispel the barrier... I mostly have been waiting for that post. Cause I figure because I can't see magic, like at all, I can't help at all with this puzzle.
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
Then why not help with carrying the ponies through the hole? You have wings.
Plus your character was all about the timberwolves and mourning for them, interacting with them, wanting to help them out - but now that we've got four dead and/or unconscious (your character has no way of knowing) wolves you seem rather ambivalent about the situation. :?
