He's asking what happens if the Be Prepared d12 triggers when you have a Conjured Weapon out.

Oh. Fair enough then, that's my question answered.Paper Shadow wrote:Unless you can start a battle with a conjured weapon, there is nothing to worry about...Spellbook - 500 Gold

When you start a battle with this weapon equipped, you may bring all of your combat talents into battle (instead of choosing 5).

Fury of the Tempest wrote:If someone hits you & other allies with an attack, can you use Under The Aegis to redirect the attack to JUST hit you? Or does the attack have to just hit multiple allies?
And what if the attack hits allies & enemies? Can you redirect the attack on you allies to yourself?
I kinda need this answered soon, holding a game up.
Oh, and also, what happens to the attack? Are you only hit once? Or does the damage dealt to each ally stack?

Well, the OFFICAL version, taking it from the 'Shield of Valor' is this:
[-4] Under the Aegis - Immediate Interrupt
Trigger - Multiple allies would be hit by the same attack
Effect - The attack hits only you instead. The Shield of Valor vanishes. This talent costs 1 less energy for each ally targeted by the triggering attack that is subject to your “Guardian’s Oath.”
Of course, the better version operates a little different, but the
'Trigger - Multiple allies would be hit by the same attack
Effect - The attack hits only you instead.'
is the important bit and still the same.

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
The trigger is based on if multiple allies are hit by an attack. If an attack meets that criteria, you can use the ability. There's no reason why the attack *also* doing other things, like hitting you, should invalidate that.

That is excellent to hear.
Another element, is does the damage from the attack only apply once or does it stack? So, if two allies take 8 damage, and you use Under the Ageis. Do you take 8 damage, or 16?

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
The AOE attack is treated as if it had only you as a target instead of you and a bunch of other people. So if it would deal 8 damage to up to six creatures, it deals 8 to you instead.

Your mastery of engineering and brilliant mind allows you to use Create Crazy Contraption three times a day without spending a Magic Point. In addition, you create something that permanently advances Equestrian society. For example, creating the Telegraph - allowing for widespread use of Spike, Take a Letter - or improved medical equipment (granting a +5 to heal checks for those using your equipment). As the creator, you've made sure that you've built in some "back doors", you may take control of your equipment or force it to stop or start working as long as you have access to it.

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
1) If a talent doesn't say 'target' - you aren't targeting anyone. Target is just a keyword-like-thing for selecting a creature for a talent. Thus Master Defense doesn't interact with Grab for Power.
2) No idea about the Amulets of Protection. Those are cool.
3) You don't need Create Crazy Contraption to use the level 10 feature. The feature itself is what lets you use the utility talent, you don't need to have the utility talent already.

That. Is. Awesome.
And I see what Kind wanted it to be expensive, and make the shield vanish... that can be a lot of damage negation.

- Deathly Vigor:
- [-2] Deathly Vigor - Minor Utility [Created by Silent Belle]
Target unconscious ally gains 2d10 temporary hp. The target may act as though it was conscious as long as it has temporary hp.
Due to wording, does this mean Deathly Vigor allows the target to ignore comatose status?

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
Indeed. However, as they both trigger at the start of your turn - you choose which order the effects apply in. So you gain the pip from one first and only gain from the second if you're still meeting its criteria.

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
It's a general rule that the player whose turn it is chooses the order that "start of turn" or "end of turn" effects apply - so it needs to be noted in the general Rules Compendium that Nehiel Mori is working on.

Re: ask a simple question...
How do conjured weapons fit in with "real" weapons. Say your character has both a real weapon (something from the treasure trove) and a conjure weapon combat talent; can you use both at the same time? Conjuring a weapon overwrites your normal combat talents with the ones specific to that conjured weapon, does it over write combat talents granted by weapons, armor and trinkets too? And want about weapons that grant a grant a combat trait like perk instead of a combat talent? Would that get overridden too? Can the Dual Wielder trait allow you to use a conjured weapon and a real weapon at the same time? Can the Dual Wielder trait allow you to use two conjured weapons at the same time?
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it. It isn't in the treasure trove document and it isn't in the Combat Talent document, and the search function didn't turn up any likely solutions here on the forms. If someone could explain the rules and how conjured weapons fit in with and compare to treasure trove weapons, and how the Dual Wielder trait applies to them I would appreciate it.

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
Real and conjured weapons have no connection. Conjured 'weapons' is just a term. So you can use them both completely fine.

Re: Ask a Simple Question - Get a Simple Answer
Don't worry, a talent that conjures a weapon only replaces your *normal* combat talents - the ones you select at the start of a battle - with the conjured weapon's combat talents. You can still get the benefits of your normal equipment and traits that grant special abilities to you - such as being able to use a special combat talent or gaining a perk as you put it.

Gotcha. Ok, thanks all! Again, I'm impressed with how quickly this form operates.
