Emerald reads through the notes and grasps a fairly basic comprehension of it all. What she immediately gathers is that Figure Head didn't actually know how to do whatever it was he was trying to do. The symbols, the flipped table, the candles are all means by him to attempt to brute force some kind of reaction. But her rereading of the notes, combined with Storm's reaction to the picture frame, leads her to believe that it is indeed the Void Window, and the symbolic amulet found in the chest room is the key to somehow opening it. As to what they will find when they do, it doesn't say.

(She relays this information to those present).

Upstairs, Koli stirs to life, and after a few lazy flaps, she hovers again. "What's that sound?"

Kanen was lost in his thoughts when Koil's question interrupted him.
"Oh hay you're up. Was starting to get a little worried about you. What sound I dont hear...."

Koli fidgets a bit "It's... no its over there. What IS that?" And with that she flies out of the room. Kanen can't ear what she might have been talking about, but he does pick up another sound, the increasingly louder creaking of floorboards under his hooves. Looking down, he sees a large crack that he didn't notice before, and that is beginning to stress under his weight.

Kanen roll acrobatics to get clear before it collapses.

Kanen jumps backward as the crack opens beneath him. He is unable to so gracefully flip out of the way, but he does get away safely. Back in the alley, Koli has flown to the end of the hall, but is stopped by the door on the left.

Meanwhile, down in the dining room, the investigations are interrupted by the ceiling partially collapsing where Storm saw the crack earlier.

Storm looks up at the ceiling. "Oh that isn't good."

He looks up to see whats causing it.

"A... void window?" Gearick questioned, even as he tried to remembered if he had heard of such a thing before. "What is that, and why would he make it?" Gearick then started when the roof of the dining room collasped. Backing torwards the door, he asked. "W-was there a reason that just happened?" An edge of fear and panic in his voice.

(Dunno what check should be used to figure out the Void Window)

"No, we're all alive." Emerald notes, then looks at the planks... Too much to hope flooring would be red oak, but you never know, oak is a popular wood and red is a popular floor colour.

"Hmm..new hypothesis. The room isn't upside, but the picture frame is marks the entrance to this 'Void Window'. And I think I know just how to test that. Is there a rope or twine or anything like that around here?" Storm starts looking around for some rope. "I think we can tie something to end of the rope and toss it through the portrait and see if anything happens."

Dodger gets to thinking. There wasn't much he could figure out about this "Void Window" - he could barely figure out what it even did. But there might be somepony who did, somepony who was very old and hopefully very knowledgable about magic... or rather, someowl.

"Koli!" shouted Dodger, up the hole through which he can see Kanen. "Are you alright up there? If so, do you know anything about a 'Void Window'?"

Kanen was a little disappointed that his maneuver wasnt like how he used to but he would worry about that later. Against his own better judgement, he continued searching the second floor and approached the next door in the hallway.

As Kanen walks down the hall, Dodger's voice carries up as he yells to Koli. She turns, and drifts away from the door she was at back to the room with the hole. "I don't... think so?" She flutters down and joins the rest of the group in the dining room. "It's not something I'm familiar with. It could be referring to something the others used to speak about and worship, but taht was ages ago, and they called it something else... the "Font", I think. Or it could be something else completely- but they both had something to do with a "window", so maybe."

Upstairs, Kanen tries the door across from the one Koli was at. It opens into a cramped spiral staircase, and he can guess that it leads to the single room spire reaching above the rest of the house.

Storm looks for something small and innocuous like an empty glass bottle and tosses it into the center of the portrait.

There's nothing on hand, except for a few cans of food he scrounged from the kitchen earlier. He heaves it against the wall, and proceeds to put another crack, to compliment the ones along the rest of the house. Nothing else happens, however, short of the can bouncing away- though curiously, for being made of aluminum, it doesn't dent or break in any way. This is most likely the result of the can's properties, though, and not the supposed window.

"Hmm...not what I expected. I guess the Void Window isn't open. I wonder if moving the frame will do anything?" Storm approaches the frame with the intent to move it, pauses and says "Anypony not able to fly should probably move to the next room over, as I'm not sure what this will do." Gazing up at the hole in the ceiling. "For all I know this might flip the ceiling with the floor."

"Could of suggested that first." Gearick muttered, even as he turned around. Standing near the doorway to he could see into the room, he began to tug the frame upwards, trying to remove it from the wall.
