"Oh! Right...oh! OH!" Suddenly the fact that she called the group "ponies" off-hoovedly springs into her mind and she facehooves. "Sorry! I guess I'm in a bit of culture shock or something. I mean, you all are the first non-ponies I've met! Well...that's not entirely true. But you're the first ones that can carry a conversation!"

"Oh so you never met anybody besides a pony that was smart enough to talk to, that's soooo much better." Flute remarks sarcastically.

"Aren't we off to a lovely start?" Kogu remarks sarcastically. "Let's just cut to the chase and start beating each other up, why don't we?"

Falls becomes very clearly worried. "No! That's not what I meant! I meant like, ducks. Ducks can't talk, right?" She stops to think and then looks even more worried. "They don't talk, right?!"

Kogu yawns again. "Sure they do. They say 'Quack'."

Flute looks at Falls as if her head was on backwards. "Of course they don't talk. Why would you even ask something like that ?"

Falls frowns, as apparently everyone but her knows what's what. "But there's a...but there's a..." Falls manages to pick up a hoof and gesture towards Kogu. "Talking cat?"

"Actually they do talk, as do many other animals." Grigok says, matter-of-factly. "It's just that many ponies don't care to listen."

Falls frowns and lowers her head, feeling she's insulted the world by not thinking animals speak. "Oh...sorry."
I mean...I know some of the ponies that take care of the animals talk to them, but it always seemed like a general impressions deal.

Getting bored of the argument, Kogu walks up to Derpy. "I don't think you ever gave me an answer regarding my payment. Are my terms acceptable?"

Derpy seems to think a moment. "Sure... but the Muffin itself stays with me. If you want to snack on it, you need to come get it."

"Fair enough," Kogu agrees. "I'll try not to crack your window again next time, though."

"I'll get a cat-door," she replies with a wink. "Maybe even a cat."

"Anyways, there's a train going to Fillydelphia here in a few hours. I bought some tickets in advance, but... well..." She pauses, as if trying to decide what to say next.

"There was some kind of kerfluffle a week or two ago... involving the emergency brake... and some noodles... and a... cat..."

"I really hope that doesn't mean what I think it does," Kogu muttered when he heard Derpy's comment about getting a cat.

He then rolls his eyes when he hears about the "kerfluffle". "Well, what does that mean for our trip? Does the train still work, are we gonna have to wait for a different one, what?"

Falls turns to the cat slowly. "Oh yeah...well, it's a bit of a problem for you. Short answer is cats aren't allowed on the train. I'd guess that talking to them instead of yowling hysterically might change their minds though."

"That's unfortunate," Kogu mutters. "How far away is it? I might just be able to fly and meet you there."

"You can..?...right, Ditzy spoke about that earlier. It's...a pretty long ways. All the way out on the eastern coast. I'm sure we can just talk to the train attendants and get it worked out."

"Dang it!" Kogu swears. "Okay, okay, let's see... Instant Transmeowsion won't work... I can fly about 50 miles per second... Super Siberian multiplies by 4000... Kaio-Kitten multiplies that by 20... so I can fly at 170 miles per hour maximum? I think? Probably not enough, not with the strain of Kaio-Kitten... dang it, I hate doing math... Looks like we might have to rely on the mercy of the train attendants after all."

Derpy snaps to wide eyed attention at Kogu's claims of speed. "50 miles a second!?! But that's like 233 times the speed of sound! How can you DO THAT!?" she practically shouts, grabbing Kogu's face and staring wide eyed at the black and orange cat.

((Yes, I've done the math, assuming a sonic barrier of 770 miles per HOUR. The numbers I got are fairly loose though; she did do it straight off the top of her head, after all, so I didn't feel a need for 6th decimal accuracy.))

Falls just stares at the grey pegasus' sudden outburst of mathematics.

"Errr... because I'm a Super Siberian? Most of my race can fly around that fast..." Kogu answers, looking rather bewildered.

"Well I could always swallow you and then regurgitate you when we get there. Like Mom back when I was born" Flute offered, remembering the time she'd spent in her own mothers stomach, safe and sound.

"Um, EW, no. Just no," Kogu cringes. "Too disgusting. Just like flying is too attention-grabbing. Feh. If it weren't for that muffin, the logistics of this whole thing would have driven me off by now."

"Well..." Grigok starts. "Now, I've never been on the train before, so I'm not sure if this will work, but how thoroughly do they check the luggage?"
