Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
As soon as the spear starts to jab his leg, Horizon rolls and kicks it away with his other. He gets to his knees, then launches himself at the first skeleton, spearing it and taking it to the ground, crushing its bones under his weight and armor.
1d6= 3 Damage
I guess Brawn check to take him out? 16+13=29
I really dislike how Howling chains has to be used on a Helpless target. If they're helpless, what exactly do you need to restrain them for?

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Although he injures himself from kicking the spear from his wound, the tackle proves fairly effective, pinning the skeleton down and breaking a few important bones.
Horizon takes another 1d3 damage. Roll for initiative! Zthulan gets +4 to the roll, paladins share his result & go right after. Skellyman that got tackled is helpless/non-fighty.
Baddie initiative:
Skelly (non-tackled) - 9
Doggy - 18

Zthulan watches intently as the undead approach closer to Horizon. "We wait for him to respond," he whispers to the two paladins. As they wait, Koras slowly materializes onto Zthulan's shoulder. The moment Horizon reacts, he charges.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Rolf heads back over to Jeraylia and the others. "Um, hello, I'm back," he says, still invisible. "Anyways, if Jeraylia can hit that area with a fire arrow, that should get some of the skeleton's attention and get them away from our stealth party." After realizing that they can't see where he's pointing while he's invisible, he grabs one of Jeraylia's arrows and tries using that to point out the area.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Jeraylia starts slightly as Rolf speaks up, but manages to hold onto her composure. She feels her arrow being taken out of her hand, and tenses a moment before letting go, actively reminding herself that it was just the invisible magician.
"Sure thing," she whispers in reply.
She drops down behind the cart into a kneeling position and takes out a strip of cloth bandage. She pulls out a small flask and a flint and steel, and pours some oil onto the strip. Drawing another arrow, she wraps the oiled cloth arround the tip. She quickly glances back over the cart to the gestured position to double check her bearing. Finally, she sets the arrow alight and, in one smooth movement, stands, turns, draws and looses the flaming projectile towards the wall.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
The fiery arrow easily hits the wall, igniting it. The flight of the arrow, however, attracts the attention of more than a few skeletons patrolling outside...
Meanwhile, the paladins charge into the fray, and the skeleton makes its own move.
Those outside can roll for initiative, but still have a short time (30ish secs) to do something else before trouble arrives. Effect of firewall unknown until then.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
"Looks like we have company, let's get into the circle for a boost." Rolf tried levitating some of the oil, using his magic to make it more slippery, then spread it out on the ground between the party and the oncoming skeletons. "Hopefully, this will keep them off kilter a bit, or at least stagger their approach."

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
The oil, aided by magic, proves slippery enough to cause the pair of skeletons and hounds to stumble around, providing a tactical opportunity.
The fire of the walls seems to have attracted some order-barking within the camp, that neither party can discern for the moment... Whatever it is, though, it's getting the skeletons to focus their efforts around the fires, with limited success.
Initiative, fight#2:
Rolf
Jeraylia
2x Paladins
2x Skelly
2x Hound
Oil makes them go last in initiative, and they have 'Vulnerability 2' the first round. There's also the 'holy' zone which 1 person (or more, at the cost of 'Vulnerability 2' per extra person due to being cramped) can go into to cause something to their attackers.
Waiting on Horizon's turn in other combat.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Jeraylia takes a spot on the left edge of the holy circle, staring down the still smoking hounds bounding towards them. She lines up the first, saying, "I'll deal with this one. Hold off the rest," and looses an arrow. The bolt hits the dog in its right paw, making it stagger unbalanced towards her.
Dropping her bow, she unsheaths her sword, ready for the clash.
Result: Hound 1 takes 3 (plus whatever holy zone effect gives) and is subjected to Demand Duel.
I don't mind the others taking a spot next to me in the zone.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Within the encampment struggle, the hound starts barking wildly, attracting another skeleton's attention. It rushes to join the fight. The hound then rushes around, lunging at several targets, but hitting only one.
Meanwhile, outside the walls, all of the paladins, skeletons, and hounds come to mutual blows.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
I'm not sure if you meant Hound1 to attack to me instead of Skelly1, since I had the hound demand dueled, but since you did, I'm redirecting skeleton 1's blow and rolling for hound 1's violation of the rule:
Misdirecting Skelly1's Sword Slash vs Jeraylia:
Damage:8
Target(1=skelly1,2=skelly2,3=Hound1,4=Hound2): 2 (skelly2)
1d8 Demand Duel violation damage on Hound1:
Damage:7
Change your round if you feels like, though, Zarhon.
The skeletons pass the hounds, and one of them strikes at Jeraylia. She catches the blow and twists into through the rib cage of the other, sending bones flying.
"Sorry!" she exclaims as a rib clocks Rolf in the face. Pirouetting with the momentum, she kicks the closest hound with a left foot round house kick and follows up with her other leg.
"I'll clear out space around the table for your friend, then."
Result: Skelly2 takes 8 damage that was meant for me. Hound1 takes 11 (7+4) damage and is subjected to Demand Duel.
Edit: changed left over pips to 2, because I cannot math.
Misdirecting Skelly1's Sword Slash vs Jeraylia:

- Combat #2:
Pala 1
Smites Hound1, but misses from blind, fails to save blind (3).
Pala2

Skelly2
Killed from misdirection.
Hound1
Killed from attacks.
Hound2
Since it wasn't attacked since last attack (I think), does 1d12 bonus damage (rolled 11) to Pala2, and re-blinds him (otherwise it would be -4 vs the existing blind). Also it doesn't bark because of it.
Then it Lunges around, dealing 5 damage to both paladins. Pala2 gets KO'd.
Stuff: Pala1, Skelly1, Hound2 are bloodied so far. Pala2 is KO'd.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Seeing one of the paladins go down, Rolf felt it was time for reinforcements. First, he used his built-up magical energy to create a shield spell (since summoning Adara would essentially leave him drained).
Rolf then summoned magical orbs which he slammed down into the ground to form the summoning circle. The circle lit up, and the pillar of fire appeared, quickly taking the form of Adara.
"Hello, Adara, good to have you with us...with a little less theatrics, I see."
"You said the city was under attack, I felt that some pragmatism was warranted." Adara looked over at Bob and the paladin still standing. "Ooh, new friends." She turned to the attackers. "Ugh, more undead."
"Adara, if you step in that circle over there, the holy magic will boost your attacks."
"I'm on it."

The struggle within the walls continues, both of the paladins smiting the undead, leaving only a single skeleton.

Smites Hound for 5+14 = 19 damage, kills it.
Initiative recap:
Zthulan -> 2x palas -> Horizon -> Skelly.
Horizon's turn now.
Meanwhile, outside, the Paladin struggles to strike, unlike the skeleton. The hound, on the brink of collapse, lunges with no regard for itself.
- Combat#2:
- Pala1
Smites Skelly1, but misses. Doesn't remove blind.
Paladin2
Ponder's the floor, due to KO. Still blinded, too.
Skelly1
Uses Swiftness (bonus hit + re-roll), then Sword Slash vs Rolf for 9 dmg & Jerry for 12 dmg. Blinded/weakened a turn.
Hound2
Doesn't bark since palas didn't hit it. Lunges, hitting Jerry/Pala1 for 4 dmg. Demand Duel will KO it since 1hp left.
Only one skelly left now, Rolf's turn again.
Outside group paladins are not happy right now.
