"...Well, that went surprisingly well." Rolf looked around to make sure that the tiefling or any of the smashed skeletons were trying to get up from under the wreckage (or reinforements showing up to see what had happened.).

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Looking over the wreckage, Rolf finds a pair of skeletons 'struggling' under the flaming logs, and easily disposes of them with a kick of the boots. He finds what he assumes to be the Tiefling skeleton (judging by the tail), now lacking a skull, and mostly crushed. In the distance, he can see a squabble happening right outside the tent. As for other forms of reinforcements... The area appears to be devoid of any.
The skeleton prepares to slash at Horizon, but the unexpected (and cursing) paladin hinders its aim: it only deals a glancing blow.
Rolf can roll initiative if he wants to, joining next round, as well as roll a history check. Zthulan's turn.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Rolf dispelled his invisibility, gave a wave at Jeraylia to let her know the coast was clear, then started running to the center tent to join the fray...He couldn't help thinking that there was something worth remembering, though.

Jeraylia flashes an impish, but encouraging, smile towards the paladins, then hurdles from the cart and sprints to catch up to Rolf, leap frogging across blocks of wreckage.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Zthulan and Koras's attacks are enough to strike down the skeleton!
Rolf feels a nagging feeling that something's off about something. But it's probably nothing terribly important.
Skeleton bouncer KO's, so mini-combat over. Proceed as normal. You're all presumably together, apart from Bob and the one paladin that stayed behind.

Horizon watches the skeleton topple, then turns to see the others running up. "Great timing. I see you decided to give up on subtlety and just tear the entire camp down." He then gestures to the dark tent door. "What do you make of that? I imagine it's one of your areas of expertise, because it certainly isn't mine."

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Turning to see what caught Horizon's attention Zthulan waves others. "How was it by the gate?" Glancing over the others shoulder he notices a few missing. "I hope that you guys didn't need my healing abilities that badly." He mutters worriedly.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
"We thought that setting the walls on fire would draw attention away from you guys. We had a bit of a scuffle, and one of the paladins in our group went down, but he's stable now. He's recuperating with Bob at the moment. Once all the skeletons were gathered near the walls, I felt it was a great opportunity to wipe them out in one fell swoop."
Rolf turned toward the tent entrance. "Hmm, I'm curious as to the "black void" view looking in. Perhaps an illusion?" Rolf tried using his magic to detect any enchantments (illusion, shielding, or otherwise) was going on at the tent entrance.

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Horizon and Rolf both identify the black 'interior' of the tent as some kind of magical or illusionary 'darkness', a smoke screen with none of the annoyances smoke usually provides. Unfortunately, this also makes it rather impossible to tell just how much it's obscuring - it might be as thick as a cloud, or it might be as thin as a curtain.

Zthulan pokes his head into blackness, piercing it sufficiently. Judging by the blackness surrounding him as he does so, it's not as thin as a curtain. It is also rather unnerving.

Let's see what I know about the cover of darkness.
Assisting Rolf (arcana): 23 ( 16+7arcana )
Jeraylia says something surprisingly insightful about veils of darkness. And then also adds, "I could tell you tales all day and night about what happens in the dark, raunchy or otherwise. Like this one story about an eerie pale child who would wail like banshee in the midst of night whenever she wet the... ah, wait, no. That was me. Forget what I said."

Re: Zilean's Revenge (Part 5)
Rolf's attempt at dispelling the cloud falls flat with no effect, though with Jeraylia's assistance, he manages to discern the following about the darkness:
- A very powerful spellcaster made it. Removing it would be difficult.
- Light doesn't 'work' in the darkness, and visibility would be very poor (though still there) for those within. The boundaries/size of the cloud are now obvious, though.
- The darkness prevents anyone looking into, or looking out of it, without first exposing themselves, but is otherwise harmless by itself.
- It's encompassing most of the entrance as a sphere, large enough to 'fit' the entire party and paladins, whilst the rest of the tent is darkness-free.
- There is something, low to the ground, right where the entrance is, hidden by the cloud.
You can has perception checks.

"Another trap, I presume. Assuming, of course, this whole scenario isn't a set-up." Rolf tried to get a better look at the object.

Investigating the darkness momentarily, Zthulan quickly exists the mist. "Well, that was an experience I don't wish to repeat again... Also it's deeper than a curtain." Shivering he makes his way to the back of the group.

Rolf, with a closer look, determines that the hidden object is a metallic tripwire, positioned to snag the feet of anyone entering the tent carelessly.
